Cloverfield - um, spoilers, I guess

Going this afternoon.

The man is obsessed with JJ Abrams and wants to have like 10,000 of his babies.

Anyone else seeing it this weekend?

Pedro is probably draggin me to it this weekend. See how thrilled I am.

I was dragged to One Missed Call on Monday. It scared the bejesus out of me

Re: Cloverfield

It's only a hair over an hour long so it should be okay.

The shaky camera thing bugs the fuckall out of me so I doubt I will see it.

Unless it is like Godzilla. In which case I will totally see it because I love Godzilla.

I hope you will recap!

Huh. I never thought about recapping. I'm not movie maven over there.

I wonder how my first post will go over (should be up tomorrow)...

my theory on movies with this much hype and suck fast edited trailers:
garbage.

They want to make all their big dough on opening weekend, bc word of mouth isn't going to sell their tickets.

DH dragged me to see it today. It was okay, but the shaky camera was extremely annoying to watch. They barely showed the monster (which is fine by me since I'm a huge baby when it comes to scary movies!) But overall, it was a pretty entertaining movie. There was somewhat of a romantic storyline thrown in there which helped to keep my attention.

Re: Cloverfield

It was overhyped.

It was very short.

It just - I know that they needed a story line to try to make us care about the characters in peril. But I didn't care about them anyway. I kind of wanted more monster, more Army background stuff...Just more.

The way it was shot didn't bother me at all; I kind of liked that one continous shot throughout.

I did like that the night started with the camera because everyone had to say goodbye to that guy and then he ended up using it just before he and Beth died.

Overall, it was just okay. The monster totally freaked me out - that was pretty cool.
