Clueless About Fittings

I just got my gown and I have no idea how fittings are supposed to work... I always hear people going for a few fittings...what are they for? If I plan on losing weight, does it make sense to go to a fitting now?

I was told that I couldn't start my fittings until 6 weeks before the wedding. They say that brides tend to lose weight as their wedding gets closer.

Depending on how the dress fits at your second fitting, you may or may not need any more.
