Co Worker just asked me if I was going to my CH...

I told her 'most likely'.

She answered'that's awful! ruins the whole dynamic of the reception'.

Mind you, she is not invited anyway, but it got me thinking.

Damn everybody and their opinions!!!

I didn't ask her, so ***??

I dont think it ruins the dynamic. You are spending a small fortune for the wedding, soit's normal to want to be part of ALL of it. I am going to my CH. Most of my friends and family went to theirs.

Plus, we are having 250ppl, and I'm *hoping* to get to say hello to a marjority of them there.

I personally don't want me, FH or anyone from the bridal party to go to the CH, but to each it's own and if that's what you want to do then so be it! It's your Wedding!!!! Jeez

That's another good reason. If you dont...you'll spend the whole reception saying hello!

This is an increasing trend for the couple to go to the CH. None of my friends and/or family have done this, but the wedding I am going to in July they will be doing this. I won't be going to my CH. There are practical pros and cons for this issue.

Anyways... why is this person even asking you? What business does she have in it. Who cares for her opinion lol. It's kinda random. Out of all the wedding questions in the world, why would they ask this. Weird. I hate nosy people.

Honestly people reallyyyy need to learn to think before they speak, IGNOREEE that person and frig her for giving a nasty answer lol. All our weddings are going to be amazing whether we go into our CH or not, you're awesome! lol

First off - it's your wedding....you should do what you want to do and your co-worker should respect that!

FH and I are going to our CH. The CH is both our favorite part of a wedding...and we definitely don't want to miss it, especially because we are paying a small fortune for everything! Also, we want to be able to mingle and say hello to our guests during the CH (as other posters have said).

our plan is to make sure all of our pictures are finished prior to the CH starting. then i am going to have the RH serve us our favorite items from the CH in the bridal room, then FH & I will attend the CH. i don't want to spend the entire reception saying hello to people.

yup same here....we want to get all the pictures done then go to the CH to get the hellos and thank yous out of the way

we will be at the CH for the whole time. my reasoning behind is that i feel like the CH has the best food and when i go to weddings its what i mostly enjoy and so does FH. and i want to say hello to everyone at the CH so i dont spend hours at the reception saying hellos. because at the reception i will be dancing my butt off!!!!!!!!! we are paying alot of money and i want to make sure we enjoy every aspect of it!

but to each his own and that decision is a personal one. and for someone to say 'thats awful' is ridiculous!!! smack her!

eh i wouldn't listen to anyone about the whole reception entrance being ruined if you go to your cocktail hour...i think that's a load of dookie seriously...no one is giving you a grand entrance at your cocktail hour you are just going in and at the reception you are announced as mr. and mrs. for everyone to hear whether you attend your cocktail hour or not I am going to my cocktail hour because I want to be able to mingle with the guests a bit....and maybe greet some people before the reception so I will have to spend a little less time greeting people later on in the night
