Co Worker just asked me if I was going to my CH...
Original post by Mrs Z To Be
I told her 'most likely'.
She answered'that's awful! ruins the whole dynamic of the reception'.
Mind you, she is not invited anyway, but it got me thinking.
Damn everybody and their opinions!!!
I didn't ask her, so ***??

It doesn't ruin anything. We went to about 1/2 of our CH, because we spent about 30 minutes alone after the ceremony eating and relaxing. Going to the CH was great! Everyone was so excited to see us. And it didn't somehow make the reception less special - we still did our entrance, our first dance, etc. and it was all terrific.

ugh! i hate when ppl stick their noses in other ppls business ESPECIALLY if their not invited !! Me and my FH are going to our CH...theres NOTHING wrong with that, besides thats the best part of a wedding (food wise) ill be damned if i miss it! i purposely scheduled a 4 1/2 hr time lapse between our church ceremony and CH so that we could take pictures and show up in our CH. you do what you want after all, its YOUR WEDDING!!! **** the haterz!!!!

I say do what you want, it's your wedding! People now a days need to understand that times have changed and not everyone is going to go the 'traditional' way. FH and I are going to our...we paid the money for it so we would like to enjoy it as well. Do what you want for your wedding and ignore that person.

The CH is where all the best food is, no WAY am I missing it!!!
Plus we're going to have only around 100 people so the more that I say hi to there, the more I can just enjoy the reception.

me too
also, our CH is 1st, then ceremony and then RH. i dont care about the RH entrance as I care about not being disturbed before the ceremony. I will be a ball of nerves and wont enjoy talking to anybody at that last hr before becoming Mrs. R
the woman was very obnoxious, by the way. what is it any of her business?? and even if she disagrees, she shouldnt have said anything. dumb.

Ignore the comment that she made. Your wedding will be beautiful no matter what. YOU create the dynamic; there is no free floating dynamic that already exists that you have to fulfill. FH & I will ABSOLUTELY be going to our CH!
Re: Co Worker just asked me if I was going to my CH...
I could see what she means but who gives a crap! I'm going to mine and its gonna be in the same room that the reception is in so I will have to walk out and walk back in for the announcement. But hey I'm paying all this money I wanna enjoy the food!

Re: Co Worker just asked me if I was going to my CH...
Who cares what she says!!!! I am TOTALLY going to my CH!!! I get a 'face' from some of the older people at work when I tell them this... first off the food is usually awesome during CH second I would like to hear more of the string quartet and the music I selected for them to play and third it is a great place to start talking to guests and thanking them for coming. These are always the same people who have something to say when I tell them I'm not getting married in a church.
One thing I have learned from planning a wedding is that everyone has an opinion and thinks you WANT to hear it...
