Co-worker needs advice on an invitation she got...
Her niece is getting married November 1 and she just got the invitation. It's gorgeous, but the odd thing is, there are 2 reply cards and 1 envelope. At first we thought it was a glitch and she was only supposed to get 1, but her kids all got 2, also. And they are in the 'postcard' style, where it's just a blank card... she is pretty clueless as to what to do LOL! I told her I'd ask my girls!
Do you think they gave 2 cards one for her and one for her husband? Isn't that kind of silly? Any ideas, ladies?

Is there instructions anywhere in there? Maybe one of the cards is for advice for the bride and groom or something? On at least one of the cards she should just write a nice little note (ie - I'm (Me and (insert name of husband here) are/am so excited to come to your wedding. We wouldn't miss it for the world, bla bla).

LOL nope, no instructions! The wedding is VERY formal - black tie - so it's a super fancy invite, too. I did tell her the 'postcard' style is for them to write a little note, but again, it's just weird that there are 2 of them. Kind of a waste of paper, if you ask me!

maybe they give them 2 in case they screw up the first one?

Very odd-
I dont know why you would send two, unless they want a name on each

This is the only logical explanation if you ask me.
So they have to write 'Yes, I am coming' or 'Sorry, can't make it' and then a note? It's 100% blank? Never heard of that!

we received a blank one recently...but it was only 1 for the two of us.
its gotta be either 1 per person, 1 to keep and 1 to send, or in case u mess up.
if she knew someone that was a family of 4 and they got 4 or 2 that would explain it a bit better.
can she call just so we know why they were sent like that??? im curious.

The insert cards are actually a very formal old fashioned RSVP card that allows friends and families to write well-wishes and a little note to the Bride and Groom to be before their wedding. Unfortunately, many people don't know this since this formatting hasn't been used in a LONG time!

very formal cards still do this... it stems from back in the day where people would reply on their own stationery... and then it transitioned to people including blank cards to be returned... and eventually into the rsvp cards we usually see today. never heard of there being two though
