I work with 3 other people (for the past week because I'm covering for another person at her post) and they go out to lunch together everyday. They have never once invited me and most of the time leave without even telling me! Yesterday it was a big deal because I was leaving for lunch and did not know where to leave my key (big thing, all the doors are locked and we can't take our keys) so I had to call the boss and ask what to do. Well, she told them they have to inform me when they're leaving. So today, one of the girls comes in and says, 'Do you need to go out? We're getting lunch.' I don't need to go anywhere, but they are so clicky! I really don't care that I'm not invited because I'd probably say no anyway, but I just think it's rude not to ask one person when everyone else goes. What do you think?
Oh, and we're all around the same age.

UGH - co-workers are so annoying! I have def gotten burned in the past, so that's why I totally keep things at an arm's length at work - I don't gossip or hang out with any of them outside.
But - your situation is super annoying - I would just let it go, especially if you wouldn't go with them anyway. But I agree, it is nice to be asked sometimes!

I would be really hurt if that was me. That used to happen to me at my old job. It is just so rude and immature. Those people need to grow up.

Re: co workers...
i completely feel your pain. My good friend works in the office next door and she and the girl who works in my office go to lunch all the time. I used to go all the time to lunch with them but all of a sudden the girl who I hate in my office I guess wrote me off and now I never get asked. So I go an eat lunch in my car now thats pathetic. The other day those 2 and the guy in my office went to lunch and saw me walk to my car and never said a word. Oh well I know who my true friends are and thats all that matters.

Aww, that really stinks, I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I don't understand how people can be so flat out RUDE. I used to occasionally work with 2 girls who would bring in a little meal for 'them' to eat, when they knew I'd be there too by looking at the schedule.
It's too bad that they have that little class and it doesn't sound like they're people worth being 'friends' with anyway. Work is work and you don't always have to be friends with your coworkers.
