If there's a post about this somewhere else lead me to it, if not...
How many of you are going to be present during your CH? & who's going to stay in the bridal suite? And if you are staying in the suite-- who's staying with you?
At first we were going to wait to make our grand entrance during the reception, but my FH feels like the CH is a good time to greet our guests so we can spend the reception enjoying the party & not making our rounds... what do you think?

Re: Cocktail Hour
We are going to the cocktail hour 1) good food 2) can get the greeting/thank you stuff the way 3) We are paying so much damn money for this thing, we don't want to miss any of it 4) our 'grand' entrance into the reception will still be grand!!
Since our ceremony is right before CH we might spend 10-15 minutes in the bridal suite to spend a few moments alone together.

Re: Cocktail Hour
We decided to go to ours, and it was a great decision...we got to speak to so many more people and didn't have to go table to table during our reception.

Re: Cocktail Hour
This is a tough one- I say yes, we def want to be at the CH- my FH would never miss it.
However, we're going to be bombarded with people- can you really eat anything and talk to a ton of people at the same time? I was my sis's MOH at her wedding and we were at the CH hour but I can tell you i didn't eat a thing- was too busy saying hello to everyone and I know she didn't have anything either.
So maybe we'll do a mix of bridal suite/CH- just so we get some food- I know I'll be starving!

Re: Cocktail Hour
Making my grand entrance is important to me so me and FH are missing the CH & will be in the Bridal suite. However the BP will be enjoying it.

Re: Cocktail Hour
We are going to try and get to as much of the cocktail hour as possible. We have a lot of guests so we need to start greeting our guests as early as possible!

Re: Cocktail Hour
we're extending our cocktail hour by a half hour...
here's the plan:
4:30-6 Cocktail Hour
We'll be outside during the sunset taking pictures from about 4:15 until 5. Then we'll freshen up and spend the last half hour or so of the cocktail hour mingling.
Then we'll still make our grand entrance at the reception!

We did that. It was probably one of the smartest moves we made the entire night. Neither of us were too hungry at the CH anyway because the ceremony was so stressful. We greeted many of our guests at the CH and had so much more time for eating our meal at the reception, dancing, and having fun.

Re: Cocktail Hour
We ate in the bridal suite and then went down to the cocktail hour because most likely, you will not get a chance to eat during it so eat first! We got all of our hellos out of the way which was the best decision. And the grand entrance was still grand!

Re: Cocktail Hour
We are going to head into our CH towards the end. The Bridal Party will go in first and we will finish up a few photos alone, then head it. The entrance to the reception wil still be special, I just want to be a part of the whole day!

Re: Cocktail Hour
We are not attending our CH because we want to make our grand entrance at the reception. We'll take pics with the BP while it's going on and then let the BP attend it half way thru while we take pics just the 2 of us.

Re: Cocktail Hour
We're gonna do pics before the CH so we can say hi to everyone & get that out of the wasy so we can just chill & hang out during the reception, you can always just make an appearance at the CH then chill in the suite till its time too..

Re: Cocktail Hour
Thank you!! I was thinking about doing the hour and a half CH, but do you think that's too much if we do the vienese hour too? Should we skip the vienese hour and go right to the after party so that all of our guests don't have to stay? (You always have those work friends or olfer family that won't come to the after party-- should I not spend it twice?? I mean, its a few thousand dollars for the vienese-- maybe I should just put that towards the bar.... AAHH! decisions decisions!!
