Does anyone know how it all works if you extend your CH? Does it extend the whole wedding or just dip into the dancing time? I'm nervous I'll miss out on the food haha.

Re: Cocktail Hour
When we asked about it at our venue, if we extended CH by a half hour, the whole night ended a half hour later. Otherwise what are you paying extra for? I would just call your BM to make sure.

Re: Cocktail Hour
Since we are getting married at the venue, our venue told us that they block an entire hour for the ceremony even though they know it usually doesn't take an hour and will open the cocktail hour a half hour earlier for us. If you are getting married at your venue maybe you can work something like that out with them.

I know someone that did it....it extends the whole night a half hour. If reception was supposed to start at 7:30 it would start at 8.

Re: Cocktail Hour
My cocktail hour is 90 minutes and extended the wedding time. Reception is still the same length. But, our BM asked us to make sure that was what we were looking for, she said some couples do extended cocktail hour and have it cut into the actual wedding time. Not sure why anyone would want that (I guess price or timing), but to each their own!
You would need to clarify with BM :)

No, we didn't. We're planning to take all our pictures between the church and cocktail hour. We specifically chose a 3PM mass instead of 5PM when CH starts at 7 so that we could be there for CH and not be rushed.

Re: Cocktail Hour
We have an extended cocktail hour, 1 hour and 1/2. Our night isn't extended at the end, the cocktail hour is starting a 1/2 earlier. We originally were going to have a 7-8 cocktail hour and then 8-12 reception. Instead we are now having a 6:30-8 cocktail hour, and still have the 8-12 reception.
