I've been tossing around ideas about what to book for the cocktail hour entertainment and wondering what everyone else is doing...

I don't think you really need music, everyone in my is going to be talking and catching up. No one is going to really remember if there was or wasn't. save the money and use it elsewhere!
I agree! We are just having the DJ play music. Nothing fancy. I want people to catch up, have some really good food, taste some wine, and enjoy the scenery. Our CH is on a deck so I want them to pay attention to their surroundings and eachother, not a musician.
I agree! The last wedding i went to; i can't even tell you what kind of music they had at the CH. Did TWOTY CH even have music? That was just a few days ago & i can't even remember!
they had a guitarist I believe. He was pretty good.

Re: Cocktail Hour Entertainment
We aren't having CH entertainment. The room is on the small side and I would rather have people just eat and chat! The hall is going to play music in the background using their own speaker system.

We are looking into a string quartet but aren't sure if we are definitely going to utilize them for cocktail hour or if we are going to have them playing as guests enter our RH.

He was good, but to be hoenst, there were so many people, I didn't even notice him until we were on our way out of the room to go to the ballroom... I didn't even hear him before that!

Re: Cocktail Hour Entertainment
We are having the DJ play music just for background noise. Of all the weddings I have been to, I never ever noticed what was going on at the cocktail hr.

Re: Cocktail Hour Entertainment
FH and I are definently having a Mariachi Band at our Cocktail Hour. We both come from Mexican families and a Mariachi Band is a must.

We are having a pianist. It was a great deal from an in house musician.
