I am really interested in hearing what everyone will be using for there coctail hour music. This is something I've yet to make a decission on. Our ceremony will be at the reception hall & we are going to use trumpters for the cermony, but I'm not sure if want them to do my coctail hour. I need suggestions. Thanks!

Re: Cocktail Hour Music
It really depends on your taste. I am not a fan of mushy slow music or classical music. I wanted my cocktail hour to reflect our broad taste in music esp. stuff they could not play during the reception. The DJ we used mixed a tape of all types of songs we liked. Things from Billy Joel to Natalie Merchant to Bette Midler to Pearl Jam (slower songs) to cheesy hair band music. Many people recognized this and commented how thye liked it better! It didn't take away from the elegance at all. It was just really background music.

Good question, I was thinking harpist and strolling violins, but now I'm reconsidering and might go with a piano player and singer so you get the best of both worlds...

I am having a guitarist play. He will probably stroll around and mingle...he also sings so he may bust out some tunes if he feels its the right time.

Re: Cocktail Hour Music
The ceremony and reception is at the beach so we're having our DJ play Beach boys, Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffett, etc. Trying to make it more like a party than a traditional cocktail hour.
