How does this work? When they say the DJ does it, where? In the cocktail hr room? They set up there? I have only been to weddings where they did none or like a piano person. I'm confused about this. If you dont have anyone, do they pipe music in or anything..I know I sound so stupid...forgive me

Re: Cocktail Hr music
I've sort of been wondering the same thing to be honest. Since we're getting married at the place though I think we're just going to keep the same musicians as for the ceremony (probably a harpist).

I don't remember how I've seen this done at other weddings. Maybe your DJ can tell you how it's usually done?

Re: Cocktail Hr music
My hall said that they can pipe music into the CH room, or I can provide them with a CD of music.

I think the dj just gives the hall a cd to play. Or maybe they stick a speaker in the cocktail area.
I had an Irish singer/guitarist @ my wedding

My DJ is pumping music in as of right now - BUT I was thinking og hiring a harpist instead....

Re: Cocktail Hr music
Depending on budget we many hire someone...anyone have suggestions..FI said no to harpist and no to a single saxaphoen player...what else is there( reasonably priced?) I think the DJ route is how we will likely go.
