when we met with our dj, he said he does music for the cocktail hour. my fh wants it but im not sure i want it. he is extra money for it but it is only $100 extra. can u guys give me some advice.

I say get it. I think it is a wonderful touch to have background music during a cocktail hour. Plus $100 is not a lot for what you are getting. I can tell you I am paying more for my cocktail hour music

We also paid for the dj to play instrumentals during the CH. And yes an extra $100 is a great deal, we're paying more.

Do you have any other alternatives? Meaning, if you dont get cocktail hour music through your DJ, will you not have cocktail hour music at all? I think it sounds like a good deal to me and definitely worth it.

Hey Deanna, I don't think cocktail hour music is all that necessary. I've never actually been to a wedding with it but it all depends on what you envision. Some people have it to set different moods between the CH. Either way people will still have a great time and mingle.

We added it with our dj but our reception site also said they would play music. You can ask them too if you don't want to spend the money.

Mine came with the package. Initially I thought that If it wasn't included in the package, I don't think I would have gotten it because I wanted people to have a chance to talk without having to yell over a song. AND then my DJ said, 'no it would be nice classic reading music.' Prior to him saying this, I never even thought about having the classical music. So with his statement, I would say yes get it.

this is something fh didnt care to do until we saw what our ch room for the second time. it has a piano so we are having someone play during the ch. we think it will add a nice little touch.
