So I am using Code Bleu and need to start choosing our songs (i.e entrance songs, cake cutting etc)...but my question is this:
With a live band, how do they play the song while we are cutting the cake, for example, without overpowering everything thats happening. With a DJ they are able to lower the music when applicable and talk over the song...does it work like that for a band also?...im not sure if i should just pick a generic 'bride cuts the cake' song or what--

They just don't play as loud. I used Code Bleu and we had the instrumental version of 'Under Pressure' as our cake cutting song.....to be honest, I barely even heard the music, lol. I don't know if it's because it was so low, or because I was on cloud nine

I was thinking the same thing for the introductions...do they vamp and announce the bridal party between lyrics? Or they announce them over the lyrics?

they told me that, for the bridal party, they typically do an instrumental song (totally forgot the name) that usually works nicely and amps up the guests (and allows for the names to be announced clearly)
for the bride and groom entrance, they announce our name and then go right into our song of choice as we walk in...works for me i guess lol im just trusting them to do a good job

Just like a DJ the band lowers the volume when they make annoucements. Don't worry about those kind of details. Code Bleu are a very professional vendor and know exactly what to do.

Code Bleu was fantastic at our wedding!!! That was never even a concern for me when we booked a band vs. DJ!
We played You're my Best Friend by Queen and as far as I could tell, the volume was perfect. You won't be disappointed!
