Coffee Urn/Percolator Question..

This weekend, I got a 30 cup West Bend Coffee Urn for $2 at a garage sale! They are in the stores for $25. Now, for my question. Is a coffee urn the same thing as a percolator? Or is it just a big coffee pot? I went looking online and some say coffee urn percolator and some just say coffee urn (and in the description it says it brews the coffee)? I am so confused. My husband wanted a percolator. What I got has the area where you put the coffee with the holes, then it has the long stick thing you put in. So the water comes up that to the coffee area and then drips throw the holes.

ok I have one...but haven't used it yet, since I haven't needed to make that much coffee yet...

but I think its a perculator...but I'll break into our storage closet later and see if there are instructions...

it will brew coffee. You will fill it up with water ( the the line that you want) then you out in the long stick and put the basket on the stick, fill with the right amount of coffee, the put the cover on. the water will perculate up and over the grinds and make the coffee!!

Oh, I was soooooo excited. I mean its not brand new. It looks like it could be maybe 5-10 years old. But it works beautifully, and for $2!! I am turning into the Garage Sale Queen! :) I love what I have been finding for practically nothing!!

Sorry to intrude on the question, but I just got a percolator too, and I have NO clue what the measurements are to make coffee. Can anyone help?!

I used ONE heaping scoop of coffee for 2 cups of water.

the actual coffee scoop that comes with the coffee, right? so, one scoop for every 2 cups? thanks!
