Coindre Hall / VYC / Watermill ??

i haven't gotten married yet obviously LOL

BUT we're getting married at the watermill!!!!!!!!!! if u have been there and its in your top 3 then obviously u kno how awesome they are!!!!

i just love everything about it there...its so beautiful the food is AMAZING the people are so accommodating and nice...

so i jus had to say that!! i get excited when i see anything about the watermill...there aren't too many watermill brides on here (i dont really know why???) so i like to wrte about them!

Watermill i been to a wedding and it is really nice. I just dont like that the room is in the basement. While it is one wedding at a time, they do have other parties going on during your affair, which I personally dont understand the difference between one wedding or two. I rather see another bride, then sweet 16, or bar mitzah etc.

Did you look at Bourne Mansion?

im getting married at the watermill, and my room is not in the basement!! LOL

they have 2 rooms for weddings, it is 2 weddings at a time, not one...the main floor room is for up to 200 ppl, u have to guarantee 150, and downstairs is for 200+ u have to guarantee 200

Sorry I thought that was the only room for a wedding so it is or isnt a one wedding at a time?

both rooms are for weddings, it just depends on how big of a party u are having...there is no way we're having 200+ so we're using the upstairs room, which i like a lot better anyway...

of course im sure they can do sweet 16s and such, but since they do weddings in both rooms, it can be 2 weddings a time max...

i have no idea if my date was booked for another wedding in the larger room or not, or if any other party is going on there on my wedding night...i plan to ask them as the wedding gets closer!

For the watermill we would be in the upstairs room, I love the way the bar is set up!

We did look at the bourn but for a few reasons they are not in our top choices.

We are getting married at the Venetian Yacht Club. My fiance and I absolutely fell in love with it the moment we stepped through the door.

We did look at the Watermill and it was our second choice.

However, if we were having a winter wedding instead of a summer one, we probably would have went with the Watermill.

I am a VYC bride and naturally, vote form them! I think the view is stunning, and the food is great too. I know several people who have attended weddings and functions there in the last year and loved it. So I'm pretty happy.

As for the Watermill, I went to a wedding there also, on Memorial Day weekend. It was beautiful the outdoor ceremony and CH...and inside was great too!

Really no complaints on either!

I am very biased but... coindre hall is beautiful and I love the 'old' feel of it. The bridal suite is the entire second floor and there is a grooms room as well!!!! Good luck with whichever place you pick.

We looked at Coindre Hall and while it was nice and they are renovating it- I didn't like the grounds (there is a dog park directly behind the hall where anyone can go to during the day). If that itsn't an issue that it is a pretty place.
Watermill is SO pretty- the grounds and CH are real nice during the summer.

When we went to look the renovations were just finished - it looks sooo nice inside, much better then in pics on their web sight

I have been to all three!

Coindre Hall was gorgeous, very unique and just beautiful building and grounds. The room for 'dinner' though was very crowded, but that was my only complaint.

VYC and Watermill felt a bit 'wedding factory' to me, but that's my personal opinion. The Watermill's grounds are just gorgeous and the outdoors cocktail hour was amazing ... I have always loved the look of the Watermill from the outside. The inside was OK, IMO.

VYC has a lot of gorgeous windows in the ballroom (don't remember which one it was since there are at least two) so at sunset it was amazing. The food was also great. I was in the BP at this wedding and I was in the bridal suite at some point when ... girls from the other wedding walked into our bridal suite? It creeped me out. No one was even watching the rooms. I felt like if I hadn't been in there, they could have trashed the room or taken things. They were drunk and said they 'accidentally' went to the wrong one, but ... who knows. That totally turned me off to the VYC, but again ... just my opinion/experience.

It was odd and not at all what I was used to, but you know what? I think it worked! It's not what I would want personally, but at my friend's wedding I danced all night and it didn't make a difference
