My sister called me with a question that I didn´t think about. Is it bad if the color of the MOB dress is the same as the BP? My first reaction was that I didn´t care but then I thought it wouldn´t look right.
Basically my sister bought a dress for a wedding she was going to go to but is returning it. My mom saw it and liked it but its blue and so will my bm dresses be.
I still don´t know if its the same shade or anything. (I havent picked out BM dresses yet) What are your thoughts opinions?

Re: Color of MOB dress?
I would find out if it's the same shade. If it's a different shade of blue, it could look really good. Personally, I didn't want my mother in the same exact color as my girls.

For me that would be something to let go of, if she wants to wear it I would not make a big deal about it. And if the dress is a different shade I think it would look cute...

I wouldn't care either way. Traditionally, I was under the impression it should not be the same color as the BMs, but coordinating. But, I like to throw tradition out the window. LOL!

I don't really think it matters, but my mom does. She would have like to wear something that is kinda in the color scheme, but aside from black which is what the BP is wearing, her choices are green and yellow and she isn't fond of either one... oh well lol.

I´m going to New York next week so I guess I´ll just take a look at it while I´m there. Hopefully it works out if she really likes the dress.

I think that it is fine if it is a different shade.

Re: Color of MOB dress?
My MIL specifically tried to MATCH my BMs dresses when I specifically had asked her not to. As it turned out, the dress she originally bought that was very close but not exactly the same color didn't fit right, so she got a different color.
At first I was a little miffed (mostly because I told her one thing and she did the exact opposite) but then I didn't really care. I just wanted her to feel pretty on our wedding day the way the rest of us did. So, really, it's up to you.
Some brides like it when their MIL is in a matching color but different dress. It's totally up to you.

Re: Color of MOB dress?
This isn't something I care about AT ALL, but I think it might look a little weird if it matches TOO closely.
That being said, I think it's OK if it's in the same color family (different shades of blue, etc). I think that might look nice actually!
