So the Knot napkins got me thinking... I wanted to order them SO BAD but I have no idea what colors I am doing for the wedding. For instance, gold or silver accents? How did you girls pick your color schemes? I have a feeling it will be like decorating a house... you find one piece you love, and build off that... Did you find a bridesmaid dress color you loved and go from there? Or maybe a particular flower? Not sure where to begin. I have a feeling once I see something I like, the rest will fall into place... Just curious.

I am doing soft winter colors, sage, pale blue, white, silver, brown. Playing off pine cones, winter greens, snow. Originally I was going to do navy and white and all snowflakes but that can look cheesy and tacky if not done correctly do I'm doing the soft winter colors.
For your season I think chocolate browns, peach, teracotta (sp?) and burgandys would be nice.

Thanks!! Your colors will be beautiful together. Speaking of pine cones, I saw this earlier today: http://www.kateaspen.com/pinecone-place-card-holders.html
I am leaning towards warm tones for sure, but I really like neutrals... champagne, ivory, and gold. Probably some splashes of chocolate.

I think I'm going with eggplant or some sort of purple with silver and white accents. Lavender has been sticking out in my head sooo much but I'm not sure if it would go with October. I'm so torn with soo many things and this is deff one of them. I also love navy and white but I always pictured purple for my wedding!

We are a week apart! I think most people think October = Fall and that you need to do fall colors. That's what is kind of bothering me. But I think in your case, purple is one of those colors that goes with every season. I think the hardest part for me is deciding between gold or silver for accents, for wherever there are metallic touches. I think once I decide on a color scheme I just have to run with it. I guess I am crazy and want everything to coordinate down to the nitty gritty details.

When I first got engaged, like the night of, I asked FH what he thought about colors and he picked blue (of course) I'm a sport so I played along...and once I figured I wanted to do rustic vintage look blue and yellow just popped in my head! lol
As far as gold or silver accents, my hall has gold tone chairs and chandeliers and sconces..and I'm a crazy matchey girl so I am sticking to goldtone for any metal accents. lol

My hall is completely gold-toned, and I love gold, so I knew I wanted that included in the color scheme. I played around with the idea of different BM dress colors but I love black, it's very classy and elegant, so I decided on a color scheme of gold, ivory, and black. My centerpieces are all ivory flowers with gold hardware, and my table numbers will probably be black.
For The Knot reception things, I did ivory and gold and they came out beautiful. I have the ivory & gold napkins and matchbooks in my album.

Thank you!!! I def am leaning towards gold for that timeless look. I was going to to ivory and gold as well for the napkins and matchbooks. They look great. Thanks so much for the help.

I am the same way. My hall has those gold tone chairs with the bamboo look to them (forgot the name of those) and gold chandeliers. Thanks for the heads up! I am going to do gold now as well.

I wanted to order the napkins and matches but I'm nervous that they won't keep well until next August.. as far as the colors I wanted blush, FH wanted something brighter so we settled on peach/coral shades. We are obviously using ivory as our base and we are adding golds and beiges and a touch of tiffany blue to give it something more. Although I have been considering changing the tiffany blue to a navy, but I feel like I can't buy anything with our colors until I see it on my BMs.. It's still a little early for them to buy their dresses so my MOH and I are going to go try some on so I can decide for sure what colors. But it's really hard with all the options out there!

We knew we were going to have a fall wedding since we both sweat like beasts. I love the color combo of chocolate brown and rust, so we went with that. Any minor details will be gold since it goes along with the colors!

Ours are blue and orange. We didn't care about the season. We went with Mets colors because we love the team so much... and yes, I know they totally suck right now. LOL
I don't care what the venue looks like, as long as I have my orange and white flowers on the tables, and the blue chair sashes.

OMG, so are we!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you know Mr. Met is $500 an hour?!?!? I hope we can afford him for an hour.
Are you the one with the ticket-looking escort cards? If not, I've seen them, and they totally rock. I hope we can do that, if it's in our budget.
