My friend had black bridesmaids dresses at her wedding, it looked elegant.

I know a lot of brides that have chosen black bridesmaid dresses! I think it looks very elegant and you can't go wrong with it!

Im doing black bridesmaids dresses, i think it will look very nice. My Girls were THRILLED, plus they got to pick their own style.

I am doing black dresses, and i love it. I just recently decided to do there bouquets in pink. I have a picture, but I definately got it from someone else, so I am not taking credit for it.
There's a black post on the Theme Board. Check it out, there are some great pics.
Also, my SIL had black dresses for her wedding. I thought they looked great!

I also think it's elegant. Also another plus, the girls could possibly wear the dresses again since they're black and everyone enjoys a black dress

Just to provide the other side of things -
I would never do black. Contrary to popular belief, I do not think black really 'looks good on everybody' - in fact, I think it makes a lot people look washed out. It certainly doesn't look very good on me, or on many of my friends. I also wouldn't do black at a wedding because it feels very funereal to me. To me black is the absence of color - the absence of light. A wedding should be all about lightness and joy. I'm not so sure about the whole black=elegant thing either. I'm not really sure how black became the most formal of formal... I think there are many other colors that look just as elegant, if not more so, and in the end elegance is just as much about style as color.
just my opinion - I know lots of other people love black, and think it looks elegant. To each his own. I just disagree, and since you asked for opinions, I thought I'd share my thoughts on the matter.
But I'm sure whatever you choose will be lovely!

I love black.. its my favorite color - a little warp I know ! The only reason I didnt do black was because I was nervous it would be too hot for august wedding. I didnt want my BM to kill me & be cranky. I think it look gorgeuos. You can also do a black and white wedding, the pics come out gorgeous - so elegant!!
