I have a color question. I love dark green, like a hunter or emerald color for my bridesmaids' dresses. I was thinking of an accent color as gold. Maybe gold sashes on the chairs over white. Or a gold border on the green and white invitations. BUT....
My FH, MOH, and grandmother all think they look like fall colors. My grandmother actually suggested pastels! Ick, not for me.
I admit that it is more fall-like, but it's not like I'm going to have leaves and acorns, and a total fall theme. I just love these colors together.
My friend had deep wine dresses in summer and it turned out beautiful.
Do you think I should do a different accent color, like light green with the dark green? Just do the dark green? Or let them persuade me to change it altogether?
THANK YOU GIRLS! All advice welcome.

Re: Colors and Seasons
I think that its perfectly fine to do darker colors in the spring/summer nowadays. I don't think that just because your getting married in the spring/summer you have to have pastels and the same goes for fall/winter-you could use pastels colors for those seasons.
If you want to have the darker colors thats what you should use. I personally like the green with the gold accent

I think you should be able to do any color. I mean, it is your wedding, and its just a color!! I wanted to do red for my wedding and I'm in July but everyone kept saying it was a fall color. who cares though??

Re: Colors and Seasons
Thanks girls! I think I'll print out this forum and give it to my FH.
My other friend also had red for her wedding in April. I don't really see why it's a big deal either. Maybe I'll just go all bridezilla on them with this.

Re: Colors and Seasons
originally i wanted olive green or deep wine for our july wedding then i started picturing everything together and my family was right... it was a little too fallish for my summer wedding... IMHO.
what about a sage or light olive color instead of the deep emerald?
what about this color??

i think emerald green and white is very summery. you can mix in a lighter green or a pale gold and it will look great!

Re: Colors and Seasons
Yet another question. So, when I was first looking at bridesmaids colors. I considered putting the Maid and Matron of Honor in a seperate color from the rest of the bridal party. A shade lighter or darker.
The hunter is my favorite. Go for that color? Or combine? What do you girls think? I'm not certain of this as THE bridesmaid dress, either, but I'm just on the colors, now. THANK YOU AGAIN!
i like the idea of putting the MOH in a lighter or darker shade of your BMs colors. if all goes well ill prob be doing that myself.

I agree with you christine! It is your wedding so do what you want you have to live with the pictures and everytthing for the rest of your life. I am getting married in June and having slate gray dresses (thats a fall color) but i love it and that is all that matters!

Re: Colors and Seasons
I think that there isn't a right or wrong color for the fall/spring/summer/winter. I mean if you like those colors, I think they'd be very pretty for May. I think the green & the gold would look very nice together, and like you said, it's not like you're throwing acorns & leaves all over the place, so it wouldn't look autumnish. I think it'b be very pretty

Re: Colors and Seasons
Thanks for all of your opinions. I greatly appreciate it! I ordered the color swatch today to get a better feel of what it would look lilke in person. Sometimes it is harder to judge over the computer. I'm going to see if I can find some pics where the MOH was in a different shade or color. I'm just not sure how it would look.

Re: Colors and Seasons
dark and light colors no longer apply only to certain seasons. My FSIL used lilac and was married in october. She was happy, and got AWESOME Vera Wang dresses on sale- since they were considered out of season (a nice plus for your bridesmaids).

Re: Colors and Seasons
you need to do what you want...i however would probably pick more of a sage or olive for your date...or maybe if you want the hunter add a sage sash

what designer are these?
I am also putting my MOH in a different color...havent picked it yet but I think her dress will be lighter since my main color is dark or i will pick a different color sash for her depending on the dresses
