Ok I'm so late ordering my BM dresses! I know I need the rush fee (my fault, I'm paying for the dresses). I am ordering them tomorrow and I keep going back and forth between this dark lilac and black. (see attached)
My colors are purple black and white but as of now I have no vision for my wedding. I had Jen from Verbeana come to my RH and I told her I wanted a garden party-type wedding. She had amazing ideas,but I still can't picture it! I can't even do my invitations because I have no vision.
My BMs like the purple and black dresses, but I worry the purple dresses will be too much purple.
Please help talk me down from my color fiasco. I need ideas from all you creative people!
I love the purple but the black will be more versatile so I would get black for the BMs and incorporate the purple into the flowers.

ITA....have the flowers purple with black and white accents with the black dresses.....or you can do some BM black and some purple

I like when people do the BM dresses black.. but I always kinda feel like EVERYONE will also be wearing black and I want the BP to stand out. So I would always go with color over black. JMO.
I think the purple is a nice color that matches a lot of other colors.. esp garden type colors. You could do purple dresses and then have purple and white flowers with a black ribbon tie (also a purple tie or a white tie).
I don't think the purple dresses will be too much purple. Are you doing EVERYTHING purple? Like EVERYTHING? or do you have contrast colors? If you are mixing it with black and white then it defintaly should not be too much purple.
Also, since you are having a garden theme kind of wedding... have you thought about incorporating and greens or yellows anywhere?
Since you are having some problems visualizing everything that you would want (which is common) try to think about a beautiful garden, imagine the plants and trees and greenery.. and see what colors you come up with... you can use those colors for other things like the CP or tablecloth... just use them sporadically and even and use colors that compliment eachother. Start with focusing on something you are familiar with seeing and then go from there; that usually helps.

After calling my BMs in a panic today, they assured me that they *love* the purple dresses and that I should just order them already!!!
Then they told me to burn the Martha Stewart artice that said not to use lilac as the BM dress color.
My boq is white and my BMs are purple and white with black accents and my centerpieces are white with green and purple accents and my favors and cocktail decorations are purple flowers in black bud vases. So as a garden so far it is kind of lacking....hmmm less than 14 hours until I need to finalize my BM dresses!!!!
Is there anything else that you guys can think of that will help me gain a vision of my wedding better?
To gain a vision (it's funny that I'm posting this b/c i SOOOO don't have one for mine) but I might try putting a bunch of different adjectives down so you can get a sense of what you want. .
colorful muted bright fun subued energetic elegant sexy minimalist over the top carefree english garden modern garden etc okay adjectives and nouns. .
But it has to match my dress which is more romantic than modern...

I like the purple...I agree that black is nice, but it's also the color of choice for guests, so if you want the girls to stand out, do the purple. And it's a cute purple too, I'd wear it again...but I'm a little vibrant lol.

I'm not crazy about the color. I think it's a weird purple, jmo. This is a victorian lilac.

I only saw the dress in its sample color, teal, so I haven't seen it in purple in person yet, which is another reason why I am nervous about ordering it tomorrow.

ITA its such a classic dress that the girls could ACTUALLY wear the dress again and play up purple in the flowers. The flowers will really pop off the black too
