I know we have had several posts on it, but i was thinking today
Do we really need a theme or specific colors? we were originally thinking winter wonderland, but it may get to be too much, and its hard to find Blue and Cream (well, not the cream but the blue) flowers. Plus, the favors we want dont go with the winter theme at all.
Question then to you ladies, how important do you think having a cohesive theme, be it colors, winter, summer, tea, blue, pink, etc?

Re: Colors, Themes, musings, etc
I think it is slightly important. There is no need to be dogmatic about it i.e tiffany blue everything but then again unless rainbow is the theme don't incorporate so many colors.
At this moment I don't have a rigid set of colors but I know that my favorite color is brown, so I will mostly likely have variations of browns, creams etc.
I guess when it comes down to shopping for items for the wedding then my color scheme will become finite.
Although I am doing brown, I am not doing the Fall thing, so don't pressured conform to the wedding mold that lies on LIW. HTH.

I dont really think having a certain theme is that important...Colors I feel are somewhat important because they give a cohesive look to everything,,,
But I dont think doing a beach wedding in the dead of winter would work all too well...unless it is a destination wedding.
If you find a color you really like though you can always find different hue's of it to use...so instead of say green and white, you could do 5 shades of green and a cream or white with it....

I agree, i don't think having a certain theme is important. I think that if you pick a color scheme that you like you can go with that and make that work. I think as long as you and your fh are happy with what gets picked that is all that matters
me, i am personally doing the whole winter wonderland, blues, whites, and silver. For favors i am going to do blue and silver christmas ornaments and just ad a snowflake tag with our names and the date. i think i will probably end up taking it over the top with snowflakes and stuff just because it is winter

I definatly do NOT think its the most important thing. The only things you really pick in terms of 'colors' are the BMs dresses and flowers.
I really want to use the color red. But I've had people tell me I'm not having a fall wedding anymore (originally we picked fall). Who cares? I FREAKING LIKE RED!!!

I picked colors just because in the long run it will make my life easier! I also that that having main colors will bring the look that you are going for together better...If you want to use blues and cremes I would go for it. You dont need to use these colors throughout...for example you could go with creme flowers and blue napkins...I did that at the Eparty and it looked beautiful! But in the end it is really about what makes you happy

off the top of my head, i know 3 weddings that had red (one white and red the other two black and red). none of them were in the fall. one february, one july and one november.

That makes me feel better I never really thought red was strictly a 'fall color'. Especially if its a cherry red!

not at all. i'd say a more orangey burnt red is more fall, cherry red i think more summery
