Comfy feet!
I must admit that I'm not a shoe hound, never have been. And since my fiance is the same height as me, I didn't want to wear heels and tower over him.
So when it came time to think about wedding shoes, I realized most of all that I want to be comfortable on my wedding day. So I bought... what else?... white Keds!
I've found cute bridal-related stickers of flowers and such to put on them and I was thinking about giving them to my Mom to decorate however she wanted and me finding out what they look like on my wedding day. My FH even suggested that that could be done at the shower!
I see a lot of pictures of everyone's shoes... Am I the only one who is choosing comfort over style?

Re: Comfy feet!
I was a BM at a wedding where the bride wore white keds. She replaced the shoe laces with actual lace, hot glued lace around the rubber sole, and hot glues roses and pearls on the front.

Re: Comfy feet!
I'm going to wear sandals, hopefully they will be comfy, but you should definitely wear what YOU want! I think the Keds sound like a wonderful idea!

That's a great idea about the laces, thank you! No one is going to see my feet unless I want them to anyway but I would like to dress them up a little for myself. I do want something green on them (my favorite color, if you couldn't tell from my user name) so some really light mint green lace for the laces would be great.
I plan on going to Michael's this weekend so I'll take a look at the hot glue stuff too.

Re: Comfy feet!
I am wearing white sneakers with a small yankees sign on the back...Nobody is going to see my feet under the 80 layers of ballgown and mega full crinoline, Im going to be comfortable. As comfortable as most of my shoes are, I really cant stand in a pair of shoes for over 10 hours, like I can in my sneakers

Re: Comfy feet!
I didn't want to wear any heel either, for the same reason as you - FI and I are the same height. However they told me my dress would look best with about a 1.5' heel, otherwise, if it were to be altered to accomodate flats it wouldn't look right. Not worth paying the extra money to have it altered when a heel would help me solve that problem.Boo! So I must give in.

Re: Comfy feet!
i am wearing flip flops from havaianas. they are seriously the most comfortable shoes i have ever worn. FH is also same height as me so i will be wearing just the reg flip flops with 1/2' sole and then i am going to decorate them with crystals in a turquoise type color to match the BMs dresses or pink to match the flower girl, haven't decided that yet.white havaianas flip flops $14
what they will look like with the crystals (which will probably run around $30)

Re: Comfy feet!
I have the same shoes that evnme posted, they're really comfortable and I didn't care about style. My FH is over a foot taller than me so I needed a heel to give me some height!!

OMG....we watched the office last night and Pam won a 'dundie' award for the whitest sneakers...her keds.
on a serious note, lots of girls choose comfort over fashion....or maybe they do both...some wear one shoe for pics/ceremony andthen change to flip flops, slippers, flats, barefoot for the reception.....my original shoes looked uncomfortable...but for me they are great.....my new shoes for the wedding are actually more comfortable, but still look uncomfortable. i wish i could go for comfort, but i bought BIG heels to avoid a $400 hemming !

Re: Comfy feet!
Now that you mention it, I should probably unwrap my dress and try it on with the shoes this weekend. I'm fairly tall to begin with and the heels at the fitting were too high. I should know and know soon if I need alterations. You have a good point about different shoes versus alterations. I'm fairly sure I won't need any alterations for the bodice but if it's between going back to David's (gasp!) or finding another seamstress, maybe I'll go the shoe route.
Besides, with the hairdo and veil, I'm already going to be taller.

FH and I are about the same height so I have little ballet slippers. Very cute and very comfy!I had the same fear with other types of shoes of whether they would be comfortable or not.
