coming to New York -where shall we get married

me and my fiance' and my two children (20 and 18) are coming to NY to get married in March 2009 from the UK.
I'm un-decided about where to get married. Central Park, Statue of Liberty....help!!!! where shall we 'do it'

Wow, both are so beautiful, what a choice! Have you made sure that you would be able to get married in either one of those places? It may narrow your search if it's not permitted.

Personally I'd go with Central Park because it makes you feel like you're someplace outside of NYC. Either way, welcome and congrats!

it might be a bit cold in march for an outdoor wedding. keep in mind that it has the potential to be below freezing and/or snowing here during that time of year. that said, there are tons of historic indoor locations in NY. if you're just looking for a site to accommodate a small ceremony (you two and your children), you shouldn't have too much trouble with permits and whatnot.

Hi ,can you give me a clus about the historic indoor places to get married.
The possibility/probabilty of bad weather is a problem

Hmm...I guess it depends on how private you want it to be. There's always Grand Central, the Museum of Natural History, The Metropolitain Museum of Art, you could go up to the Cloisters or Wave Hill (both) in the Bronx. Some of the higher end hotels are nice too. It just depends on if you're ok with people walking around or if you want it to be totally private.

And if you're into the Church thing (depending on what your religion is) there are a TON of old and beautiful churches as well.

Wolfie - welcome and congrats.

Alot of places require you to have a permit to get married. Don't forget, you need to find an officiant as well (which makes it 5 of you). Alot of places won't let you just show up and have your ceremony. Are you planning on getting your marriage license here?

I'm so confused by it all really

I know we can go to City hall to get the license etc on our own but then there are loads of companies who will provide the officiate , license , location etc.
I haven't a clue and feel a bit overwhelmed by it all.
We've got the flights and hotel booked and thats it!!

Someone tell me whats best!!!!!
