My FMIL called my mother last night to complain that her family and friends were telling her that there was nothing on my registry that they 'wanted' to buy!
I have a RANGE of things on registries at 3 different stores!!! Waterford Marquis Stemware, Towels, Bathroom Sets, Appliances, Etc.
I inherited China from my Grandmother, my Mom bought me all of my everyday dishes and my Aunt bought me all of my pots.
BUT there is STILL plenty of stuff for other people to purchase!!! Isn't the point of having a registry for people to buy the things I WANT and NEED?!?!
People are too much!

Everytime I see my brother he asks me if things on my registry are 'necessary' like a cake mixer.
If you didn't want this stuff, it wouldn't be on there. That's the way I look at it.

i always buy off the registry. although people are well-meaning when they gift crafty types of gifts...i'm just not a crafty type of girl! can't stand candles, anything smelly, anything that will collect dust, tchockas (sp?), books, etc. thoughtful, yes. will i ever use it, no. so i don't do it to others.

i totally could have written that post!!!!!!!!!!! i had the same problem!!!!!! i wish i could bump it. my mom also bought me my everyday dishes, my grandmother gave ,e her china and my aunt bought me my pots!!!!
i hate when people have something to say about stuff you picked out. a registry is only a guide. its not forcing them to buy things for you. they can give you gift cars or anything! im sorry you are going through this- quite annoying!!!!!! hang in there. maybe add another store to the registry? or a honeymoon registry?

oh I hear you. People are complaining about mine too. I HATED registering. It was the worse experience of the wedding planning. For cryng out loud, just give me the $ or gift cards. I hate to be this way but

no one has complained about mine – not to me anyway.
The one remark I have heard from a few people is that there is very little on both registries. I keep updating it, but there's only so much that we 'need'.
Besides, we're moving sometime soon after the wedding so we didn't register for too many decorative things.
