My FMIL called my mother last night to complain that her family and friends were telling her that there was nothing on my registry that they 'wanted' to buy!
I have a RANGE of things on registries at 3 different stores!!! Waterford Marquis Stemware, Towels, Bathroom Sets, Appliances, Etc.
I inherited China from my Grandmother, my Mom bought me all of my everyday dishes and my Aunt bought me all of my pots.
BUT there is STILL plenty of stuff for other people to purchase!!! Isn't the point of having a registry for people to buy the things I WANT and NEED?!?!
People are too much!

Too bad it's not for them to WANT to buy...that's the whole point of a registry, that people buy you what you NEED and not what they WANT....I swear people are out of their minds!

Honestly, to make my life easy...I just start at the top of a registry list and start buying until I total to what I want to spend. I figure if it's on the list, that's what the bride-to-be wants..so every gift is a good one!

I agree - MONEY! so you can put it towards furniture and other stuff that might not be on your registry.

Really, cuz then it would jsut be them buying you gifts you don't want.....
which will happen anyway tell them to shush & get you a friggin gift certificate to one of the stores you registered at

The whole point of having a registry is to get what you want!!!!!!! People are amazing, if you wanted them to get you something they want you wouldn't have spent all that time registering.

LAST TIME I CHECKED THATS WHAT A REGISTRY IS FOR. ITS NOT WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO LIST FOR THEM TO BUY YOU, ITS WHAT YOU WANT TO LIST AND THEY HAVE A CHOICE WHETHER OR NOT THEY WANT TO GET IT. SOME PEOPLE HAVE ALOT OF NERVE.

Although I look at a registry as a 'wish list', I buy for someone what I want to, whether it is on the reigstry or not.
The problem I have is that they had the audacity to complain about it. There's no one making them buy off your registry. You have every right to register for what you want. If there's is nothing they like, they need to look elsewhere, not complain about it.
I'm sorry you have to hear about it.

Just lets you know people get choosy when it comes to buying gifts...what happens if you got choosy on who NOT to invite? They dont mind coming to a $100+ dinner but they will remark on your registry!

People did that with us too, and it was only for our engagement! I hate it! Listen, you don't HAVE to by us a present and if we need measuring cups and you don't want to get them, then BE F-ING CREATIVE!!!

Everytime I see my brother he asks me if things on my registry are 'necessary' like a cake mixer.
If you didn't want this stuff, it wouldn't be on there. That's the way I look at it.
