Here i go again. Either my post are bad or people just don't like me (# of responses on my post are very low). But I'm a happy go lucky girl , so I decided to post again any way.
Here it goes:
Does anyone have comments on these reception locations. I am looking for something in a isolated location (no huge streets or houses right across the street). Somewhere in Nassau County or on the edge of the Queens/Nassau County borderline. Also somewhere beautiful but not too 'classy' looking (i know i'm picky ). These are the last and final locations I wanted to check out before i do my second 'run' on the places that i like. The reception locations that i have are:
Crest Hollow Country Club George Washington Manor Leonard's Manor East Riveria The Cottage & Carriage House at Milleridge Woodbury Country Club Imperial Manor

Re: Comments on reception locations.
I am booking at the Riviera tonight. It is on a private road with little traffic. There are some houses in the neighborhood, but nice ones. It is right on the water, look into it.

Re: Comments on reception locations.
ChippsTriD and I are both having our reception at the Manor East on 9/18/04. We both love it. We both are dealing with our own banquet manager. We never see each other. We each have our own bathroom, kitchen, cocktail hour room (each have a different room) and start at different times. My cocktail hour starts at 6 p.m. and her's starts at 7 p.m. It does not have grounds but it has beautiful rooms, gazebo and water fountains to take pictures in and by. MichelleW and NOVEMBER both had their receptions their too. Here is their website Manor East . If you have any questions about prices, rooms, etc send me a forum.

I loved Jericho Terrace but my FH said the area wasn't worth the price they were asking. . He's another picky person also.

Leonard's is beautiful. It's on a busy street but has a huge U driveway with a wall that pretty much blocks all of the Northern Blvd traffic out. So you don't really see it. Good Luck in making your decision.

I am getting married at Crest Hollow- while it's on a main road it is pushed back and you do NOT hear cars whizzing by and do not feel like you're anywhere but a nice country club. I was at my cousin's wedding there a few years ago and it was beautiful. It's not far from Queens at all. I know it's about 35 minutes from NYC. And the grounds are BEAUTIFUL. Good luck and FM me with any questions!

FH and I fell madly in love with the Milleridge Cottage. The food is amazing (we eat at the restaurant all the time) and-- they WILL BARGAIN with you. we got an amazing price. The whole place is yours and it's pretty secluded. They have a small outside, that is really pretty. It's a must see!

Did you check out Westbury Manor? That's right in your local, and it's another GORGEOUS place, with not too much around.

Re: Comments on reception locations.
GW Manor was our 2nd choice. Our party was too small for Milleridge.
You said that you didn't want something on a busy road, but Leonards & Crest Hollow are both on very busy roads. Crest Hollow is set back, but Leonards is right on Northern Blvd.
I didn't care for Manor East or Imperial Manor.
Riveria has beautiful grounds and great views, but the room just wasn't what FH & I were looking for.

Re: Comments on reception locations.
I've been to six of the halls on your list when we were looking to book our wedding...
I really liked GWM, but it is an historical building...no wheelchair access, so it didn't work for me.
Crest Hollow and Woodbury CC were nice but not for me...too big, too much going on at once for my taste.
Cottage and Carriage House were very pretty.
Leonards and Imperial Manor both have a very 'reception hall' feel IMO, and that's not what I was going for.
And I only got one response to my very first post, don't take it personal!
Hope that helps!

I haven't been to any of these places to look at..so I wasn't sure how busy the area is around it.

Re: Comments on reception locations.
Crest Hollow Country Club-very nice, I've been to many affairs here and always thought they did an excellent job. Is this isolated enough for you though?? George Washington Manor- Can be small, so becareful with room counts. I had my SIL's bridal shower there and it was beautiful. Food is good enough, but not exceptional in my opinion. Would not consider this isolated at all though. Leonard's- Don't know anything about it. Manor East-Don't know anything about it. Riveria- My friend's sister just got married here a couple of months ago and my friend raved about the place. I've never been there myself. The Cottage & Carriage House at Milleridge- Food is going to be the same here as the GWM because they are owned by the same people. Woodbury Country Club-I don't know anything about it. Imperial Manor-Not isolated at all and IMO had a very catering hall/sweet 16 feeling to it. Not trying to offend anyone here, just giving my honest opinion. With that in mind, it is a cute place and I know the price is great for it.
