That was a great article! Did you read the comments ? There are 4 from wedding service vendors (I know at least 2 are videographers) saying that she doesn't know what she's talking about. One even says that he's lucky he can charge $5500, but that he deserves it and that he bets he's the least expensive vendor a bride hires!!!

Almost $6K for video?!?! Thats sick.

Interesting.
Everyone has their own point of view.
Amazing that someone actually wrote a book about the topic.

Re: Commercialization of Weddings

It's funny how every vendor thinks that they are the most important vendor. Someone on here--or on the 07 board--posted a nasty email she got from a prospective DJ who referred to himself as 'the most important vendor she'd hire.' And I guess it's good if each vendor does the best job they can do because they think they're the most important.

Personally, I think the most important 'vendor' is the officiant. I was talking to my hairstyilist at my trial yesterday about this, when she said that I seemed pretty laid back about it all. I said that I will be fine if anything goes wrong, because I know things will go wrong. The only thing that will push me over the edge is if the rabbi doesn't show up!

She did a live chat last Friday on Washingtonpost.com. It was really interesting. Here's the link:
