Communication Issues

For anyone that has used or is using Silverfox, have you ever had trouble communicating with them? I am using them for their DJ services, and it takes at least 48-72 hours, possibly more to hear back from the owner. Most recently, he sent me a contract and the time was wrong so I e-mailed back letting him know and giving him a time that we could talk as he asked, but it's been over 48 hours and I still haven't heard anything.

I'm thinking about possibly meeting with Tommy's Tunes or another DJ to book them for our wedding.

Does anybody have any advice?? =/

Personally I am not a fan when it takes time to hear back from someone. I get that there's other things going on so it can happen but if every time I reach out to a vendor it takes 48 + hours to get a response, I would look at that as how it's always going to be. If it bothers you know, it'll probably bother you more as you get closer to the wedding. Although I don't know how much communicating needs to be done with the dj throughout the planning process I don't think it would hurt for you to meet with someone else.

And my sister used Tommy Tunes for her wedding last year and they were awesome, we just chose to go with someone we liked more (after hours).

I was thinking of using Silverfox for photography but when I called to make an appointment I got a machine saying they would call me back. I didn't like that at all, so I didn't bother making an appointment. It felt very impersonal. I would say if you're ok with waiting a day or two for a response go for it. They do seem like an awesome vendor. But if you want someone more personal go with someone else.

Yeah, we fell in love with the DJ portion because it felt so personal when we met with him! But now trying to deal with him and get in contact just to get a contract signed has been over a 3 week process!

I saw After Hours at a showcase and was thinking of using them as well! They gave a huge booklet with pricing. Is that pricing pretty much set in stone or are they willing to negotiate pricing/give a discount?

Personally I am not a fan when I have to wait several days for a call back. That is unnecessary stress that I don't need with the wedding planning nor do I need the day of our special day. I mean if you have sent an email as well as a call and it has been 3 weeks I would save yourself the headache. That is just my opinion. If you want to give them more time that is your choice but I would also see what else is out there just to provide yourself with more options. You never know. Good luck and keep us posted =)

I used Silverfox for photo/video and really never had any issues at all! Usually no longer than 48 hours to hear back via email. Were you calling or emailing? Definitely give them a call and mention you were concerned at their response time and I'm sure they'll be sure not to keep you waiting again. Seriously one of my favorite vendors. Love Silverfox

I'm using them for photo. When we booked them for our initial meeting, everything was super easy and they seemed so professional. We loved them right away and booked on the spot (we have met with a couple other photographers first).

I did have an issue booking our engagement pics. I've never gotten a machine when I called-- I most often get their receptionist Renee. I called and spoke to her on a weds afternoon to schedule our engagement pics. She told me she had to call me back because she didn't have our photographer's schedule. I called back the following Monday when I still hadn't heard from her. She told me again she needed to call me back. Luckily that day she called me later that day and we set something up. I was starting to get a little worried. I did email my photographer yesterday to ask her for any suggestions about the engagement shoot and she has yet to reply. It may be her day off, so I'm hoping she'll get back to me today or tomorrow. You are definitely not getting personalized service at a big company like this-- but I hope that they get better! I've only read great reviews-- I hope all is well.

I have to say I had a few changes with the engagement shoot and they have been very good with the communication. They write back pretty quick and usually answer the next day.

I'm still blow away by their work, so I'm hoping that it's just a case of this being their busy season and they're just really, really crazy busy.

I love their photography, unfortunately it just wasn't in our budget because we wanted that 2nd photographer. We loved the DJ as well, this is just annoying and putting a bad taste in my mouth since it is just the beginning.

Thank you! I think those might be the next 2 DJs we are going to look at, especially if I don't hear back from him tonight.
