Any of you out there have a BM that is also getting married? One of my 'best friends' has become so competitive with me, that I don't know what to do. She constantly compares everything and tries to 'one up' me from the size of our diamond rings to who has the prettier flowers . . . Anyone else going through this? I find it so hurtful that such a close friend would be like this - besides, none of this bull is the point of the engagement or the wedding! Why is she doing this and how can I handle it?

I think that it's how you handle this situation that is going to make a difference. I don't have this situation...THANK GOD! And the chances of it happening were pretty high considering my sister, who is my MOH is getting married in April, my BM is getting married in May, another friend in May, another friend in June and then my own wedding in July. We all have different taste and respect eachother's weddings, so this hasn't happened. I think it is something that happens a lot though, even to the best of us. Just hang tight, this too shall pass. Just go about your planning and maybe don't talk details with this girl.

my sister is my MOH and i'm her MOH.. shes getting married 3 months before me. everything is a competition. you'd think it would be me comparing.. but no its her. i dont get it. we're two totally different people, we'll have 2 totally different wonderful weddings.
i guess she just feels that hers has to be better.. ive yet to figure out why though.

I guess there is one advantage of being the last one to get married... all of my friends are. I loved there weddings but they were a long time ago (ten years for one) and I have my own ideas. I'm sorry you are going through this.

when i went for my dress yesterday, one ofmy sister's seemed to be in a pissy mood, i don't know why. i mean she had her wedding. when i ask her something, its like pulling teeth. thand god i have u girls

Don't tell her anything. - As horrible as that sounds, it's the only way to avoid constatnly being hurt and disappointed by her. Share the news and excitement w/ friends and family who are HAPPY for you !! I'm sure there are plenty !
