Complaining BMs

Has anyones BMs complained DIRECTLY to them that they dont have money to pay for their dress? I am so annoyed that these complaints were said right to me. I got so frustrated, I said, FINE I'll pay for the dress. I am just going to pay for everything for everyone because I can't deal with this complaining. Ya know? I only get married once and people just can't deal with it and keep their mouths shut? I never complained directly to the bride about the thousands of dollars I spent on previous weddings

Re: Complaining BMs

sorry my BM's are not complaining. I have read on other posts about this, it sounds like it is very stressful. I'm not sure if I would pay for all their dresses anyway because then it runs into shoes and everything else, especially when you are paying a lot for your own things.

Welcome to the wonderful world of wedding nightmares.

Very sorry about your situation. No one complained but FSIL has given me heartburn from the beggining. I had a very stern talk with her and she changed her tune. But she thinks I dont see her little games, so I took a new attitude I treat her like she isnt in the bridal party. if she show she shows, if she pciks up the dress she pciks up the dress.

Yo have to set groundrules while being fair as well

Why do you feel obligated to pay for their dress?? When is your wedding?? How much time did you give her to save??

I know exactly what you are taking about. Two of my bridesmaids work part time while the other 2 won't be working too much because they are student teaching. Can they make me feel anymore quilty?

I am sorry that this is happening. I don't understand why people would do this. Don't people know the financial obligation when the step up to the position?

Wacky, I also can't STAND my FSIL. She is a spiteful SOB. I would never ask her to be in my wedding (it's not his real sis, it's his bro's wife). Anyway, I had one bm who was very annoying from the beginning with dresses-she is a little overweight and only wanted a long sleeve, high neck dress-ummm, my wedding is the beginning of Sep when it could be like 85 degrees-don't think so. I even offered that she could get a jacket made, or a shawl but she refused and poilitely backed out of the wedding party. Believe me, I am not upset at all since now I can choose the dresses me and my other girls like.

What I don't understand is why did these girls agree to be in the wedding? They should have politely declined

Re: Complaining BMs

I almost WISH the biggest problem w/my BMs was that they were short of cash - that might be something I could actually help to fix or work out . . .

But I have a BM cousin who's currently ****ed off that I didn't ask her to be MAID OF HONOR!! Can somebody help me solve that one!! Please???

OK sorry to vent in your thread but I do not think (unless you can def. afford it) that you should pay for the dresses. But I can understand doing so cuz it is yoru wedding day & if this is all it takes to make it great for you & you can afford it, then go for it! Good luck!

Re: Complaining BMs

so sorry you are going through this. sometimes BMs just don't realize what they are saying. just remember that they do love you and stick to your guns. dont' just cave cuz it is easy. once they realized they went too far, and you stick up for yourself, they usually (hopefully) will turn around.

i had something sort of like this. it was n't a direct complaint, it was just a ton of hints about not being sure, blah blah blah. Then this BM talked with another BM and got the other one to agree to pay for her dress don't know why, but that really upset me. i cannot take double money from one of my good friends. so i am going to cover ONE of the bm dresses. i explained to everyone and they are all okay with it. Short story, i do NOT think you should pay for everyone. maybe one on the side, but not everyone.

Also - i ordered through netbride.com, got great prices and then paid for the shipping ($15 per address). so i passed the awesome costs onto the BMs. (like less $150 for Jim Hjelm!) if you are going to pay for everything, check them out!! Good luck!

Re: Complaining BMs

I have one who complains and we haven't even done anything yet. She was annoyed I didn't let them choose her own dress (even though I told the girls we can all go together and pick something they all love.
She also tells me she refuses to get her hair and makeup done with us. She will go home to new rochelle (in the short time we have between the brunch and the photos) to have it done UNLESS we use HER hair and makeup person.
I'm not too worried. My girls have said she will wear and do whatever I ask and SMILE about it. THEY will make sure of it...lol
