Let me ask you, who lives with their FH right now?
Before we got engaged, we were on a house/condo/apartment hunt, which died down as I awaited getting full time at my job. When we got engaged, obviously moving in was inevitable, but doesn't seem to make sense just yet because this is the time you start getting things for the home so why buy some hold me over stuff if you're just gonna get the stuff you really want soon enough? And of course we figured we'd save some money since we're paying half of the wedding.
My problem? I'm getting completely frustrated not living with him. We're moving forward because we got engaged, but it doesn't feel like we're moving forward because we're still living apart.
Is anyone else experiencing or have experienced the same thing? Any good advice?
thanks ladies

We've had sleepovers, but it's really difficult to have a wonderful weekend with him and then to watch him leave on a Sunday night when all I want to do is just cook him a nice dinner and sit on the couch.. watch some tv... and go to bed next to him...
These are my exact thoughts! It may seem so simple to someone else, but to me (and you obviously) that's so important!

Re: completely frustrated
FH and I have been together for 5 years and we don't live together yet. We have been saving our money for a house/honeymoon/wedding. Its hard at times, but I have been staying at his house more and more. Hopefully by the end of the year we will be able to find a place of our own.

Re: completely frustrated
FH and I have lived together for almost 3 years, and it has not been easy financially. We first moved in together because my roomates moved out of the house we were sharing and I needed a new roomate and a new place to live. It was too expensive to live by myself and I didn't have any other available roomates, so it made the most sense then, and we new we would be together forever. In that time, We have struggled on 2 salaries, struggled on my pitiful teaching salary and his unemployment and finally just these past 6 months we have finally managed to live comfortably due to him getting a great job and me getting a pay raise. But since most of the time we've lived together was a financial struggle, we've had no room to save money. Sometimes I wish that we had not moved in together so soon because things for us would be really different, but I can't the 'what if' game with our life. We will most likely not be able to afford a house until after we are married, even though we would love to be able to buy one now. So I know how hard it must be for so many of you who wish that you could live with FH, but just think of all the money you are saving.
As far as stuff is concerned, when we moved in we brought the furniture we had. Our place is full of hand me downs. The kitchen stuff is stuff I had from college, plus some cheap stuff I bought when I moved down here. We've made lots of sacrafices and held off on purchasing the things we have wanted, but we know it will be all worth it in the end. We are so excited to register for the stuff we want so we can finally have matching silverware and a full set of dishes.

I do not live with FH either and it can be frustrating at times...but you know what makes me feel better?? Knowing that we are doing things the old fashioned way (weird, I know)
I agree me and FH live 30 MIles apart and i vowed to live with him after we are married ..it puts extra excitement to being married
