I went to my regular doctor today because my leg is still not 100%. I figured they might know a bit more than a midwife about this stuff. Well it turns out I never had a pulled muscle (though the symptons are similar). My little peanut has decide to make femmel (sp??) nerve its home and the pressure is causing all of the pain. And she said it will probably continue to get worse as I get bigger and more full of baby. I have an appt. w/the orthopedist on Friday morning so he can confirm her findings. And if so, I will be telecommuting for a while- which is not such a bad thing. I am just afriad of waking up with that intense pain again!! I need to stay off of it and NOT be in a seated position for very long to try and prevent it for getting to that point again.

Re: Compressed Nerve- so the doctor thinks
MY midwife did not diagnose this. I went to my regular doctor. I just don't think that midwives and OBs are muscle doctors so they probably just think we are 'having normal pregnancy stuff'. Well it started out as a tightness moved to a full blow leg cramp and went into a complete unmovable state. The pain was VERY internse. I couldnt even get myself off the bed or couch or move my leg at all without real pain. I suggest a visit to your regular doctor to for peace of mind. Of course, many pregnant women get leg cramps. I read that one of the symptons of my thing is feeling that your knees/legs may give way. I haven't had that though myself. Now that I have been off of it for almost a week the pain is feeling better. But I went to the store yesterday and it started to really hurt because I was on.
