A couple of days ago when I was clicking around the web, I must have clicked on something wrong and now I have a constant pop-up. It's some weird home morgage thing, that won't go away. Every other screen I hit this stupid thing pops up. I'm pretty computer illiterate, but I know how to clear my history and my temporary internet files, this doesn't help. Does anyone have any ideas on what this might be? It seems like a virus that won't go away. I'm just getting really fustrated

go to tools/internet options/ delete cookies and delete files (offline as well). then shut down the computer and restart. somewhat of a pain in the ass because all the cookies will be wiped out ie: have to re-enter passwords for websites.
if that doesn't work go to start/programs/windows explorer/windows/cookies. if there are any files go to edit/select all/delete.

This is a long shot but if it installed itself as a program then you would have to remove the program. Go into Control Panel and go to Add/Remove Programs....see if this is in their and if so delete it.
Or try doing a search for it on your hard drive, see where it is coming from and then delete the file that way. Hope this helps

No, I went to the control panel and nothing like this was in there. I went to find files and found the temporary internet pages and deleted them but theres still the pop-ups. Thanks again, but no luck.

This is kinda obvious also, what about going into the Pop-up, looking around alittle and then exiting. Maybe if you exit that way it will stay closed?!?

Yea, I restarted my computer a couple of times, after each different method I tried. I just downloaded the Pop-up smasher and that's didn't help neither. Even after I click into the pop-up and try to exit it just pops up again. Thanks for all your help and I'm still open to anymore options.

maybe try turning the comuter off for a while (if you can). Leave it off, don't just restart it. Sometimes when a computer is turned off it repairs itself.
