Concerned..

Ok, I have found the one thing that helps my morning sickness, and it is Eclipse Peppermint Gum. I have been chewing on it religiously for over a week now. I just realized that it is sugarfree, and contains aspartame. Should I stop with this gum? Do you think it could hurt the baby?? Any alternatives, although I don't want a lot of sugar....

Yay for you that you finally found something to curb your sickness! I was actually wondering the same thing about sugarfree gum - funny that its never on any 'foods to avoid' lists for preggos... have you tried regular peppermint candies??

I'm not really comfortable with the aspartame, I don't know if it would have any affect - but I wouldnt take the chance --

I limited my aspartame when I was pregnant. Have you tried the red and white candies yet? I'm telling you that was my saving grace.

I asked this same question to my Dr. and he said that the amount is so small that it will not effect the baby. No need to be concerned.

asparatame is ok but saccharin is not. My vitamins( flinstones) contain some asparatame.
