so, Fh's BIL said that he went to 2 weddings at JT and while they were both very nice...he said the difference in cocktail hours was what really made one wedding better than the other. he says we really should have a seafood bar bc the difference is night and day. but thats extra $$$ and we're struggling as is to pay for this wedding.
now I'm bummed out bc I'm worried after all this money we're spending people will still say we had a sucky CH or whatever bc we couldn't afford to add on extras.

i dont think you should worry at all. MOST people wont notice there is no seafood bar. When i go to CH, i only notice what they have and dont sit there thinking 'OH NO theres no seafood bar'
So true. I always leave a CH stuffed. Although, I did go to a wedding where the CH was cheese and crackers
Hey I love Cheese & Crackers, see I would have liked that CH. hehe Everyone has something that is their preference. I have never in my life complained about a cocktail hour... b/c well it is a cocktail hour. I go to get some drinks, some food & mingle before the big event Don't stress it. I am happy to say my cocktail hour is the least of my worries in the wedding day hierarchy

Opinions are like a holes , everyone has one . don't sweat his opinion- there is always going to be someone who has something to say about everything , don't let it get you down I have been to weddings at JT and the food was VERY good- thats what make or breaks a wedding IMO , if the food served is good, not if there is one thing over another .

There's SOO much food at the CH that ppl should never walk away saying 'eh, it was okay'...If they do, then they are CRAZY! And besides, no one would ever say to the bride and groom, 'your wedding was great, but you shoulda had the seafood bar', so don't worry about complainers, they will always be there but you most likely won't hear them on your wedding day! You will be so happy and excited because you will be marrying the love of your life! Who cares about a stupid seafood bar!

don't worry about it! That's just his opinion. I saw the cocktail hour at JT set up when I went the first time and it didn't have the seafood boat. There is so much food I hardly think guests will be thinking about seafood boats. Just tak it as his opinion and don't sweat it.

FH & I both LOVE seafood and we didnt add it to our CH either!! We figured there are so many choices at JT for CH why should we spend even more $ when it is not needed!! Trust me your CH will be great!! Don't listen to people!!

There is soooo much food for the CH at Jericho Terrace. YOu need not worry about having it.
And you would be surprised to to know that not everyone eats seafood. You don't want to waste all that money.

I don't think it'll make a difference. I've been to two weddings at Jericho as well and thought they were both just fine, with or without the extra seafood cocktail. Just because your FH's BIL had the seafood cocktail at someone else's wedding shouldn't make you feel pressured to include it in yours. The food there is already really great, so why stress and go over budget for his opinion!

There is always going to be someone who will find something to complain about. I agree..tell him to go pay for it if he wants it so bad...it makes a great gift!
Im sure if you polled the girls on here, most wont be having them...a luxury yes, but at a cost - it would be nice to have everything, but sometimes it just cant happen....
and from what ive heard JT offers so much food - and alot of good food - not like pizzabagels or anything - that it is to die for!
I think its going to be a great CH and tell him to shut his hole - you dont need the stress right now!

well, i happen to know i had the best wedding in the whole world AND i didnt have the seafood bar
no one noticed and i got SO many compliments on the CH, the amount of food was OBSCENE! and there are seafood choices without the bar.
we even added a few platters of sushi bc we couldnt afford the sushi chef and THAT was enough.
