The theme for my wedding is 'How Sweet It Is.' and I was thinking that instead of making paper or vellum cones, I could put the rose petals into ice cream sugar cones instead. Do you think this is cute or weird? Thanks! Also, how do you keep them standing up so the petals don't spill out? Thanks! :o)

I don't think it is a good idea because the cones can break easily.

If you shellac them you can probably make them sturdy enough to hold.
You can get shellac at any art supplies store. Someone there can probably tell you the best method.

Hmmm... people hold them when they eat ice cream - do you think they'd be that fragile? I didn't really think about it. If I could make the sturdy enough to hold, do you think it would be a cute idea? Thanks! :o)

I think it is a great idea!!!! You might want to shellac(sp?) them just to make them stronger.

what about the waffle ice cream cones? Maybe that's what you mean.. and if you can make them a little stronger - it would be perfect!

That is a cute idea, but how many cones would you be using? What would be done with the cones when your done? you just throw them away right? (sorry, I don't know too much about this)

At first I was picturing sugar cones and thought it might be a bit odd, but, then I pictured waffle cones - they would be so cute, and would hold up much better, like Pickle said! I agree with M&M2004 too - be prepared that some of your guests might have a little snack! (Especially the kids!)

That's a great idea! Do you know how many times I am running to a wedding and don't get to eat - I would love a little snack and they go perfectly with your theme!
