My FH never made his communion yet alone his confirmation and we are getting married at CTK in Commack. However, it really depends on the church and you can't just get married in any church. You need to be a parishoner or your parents needs to be. I think they are letting us since I am very active in the church and so is my family. It really depends on the church and priest.

you can get married in any church. you just pay a different price & they tell you, you should get married in your or FH parish.

however i think this is unfair because how can one church tell you, you have to be confirmed & another tell you, you don't have to be??

Really depends on the church. SIl wasn't even baptized so the church wouldn't marry them unless she did. Think they were satisfied with just that. They ended up getting married at East Wind so in the end it didn't matter. Know that some churches are a lot more strict than others.

FH did not make confirmation but did make communion. At the church we are getting married at I am a parishoner, so they said it's ok. I guess it depends on the chruch bc I've heard both.

it really really depends on the church. some require it some dont. It also depends on if you are having a full mass.

Re: confirmation & getting married in church

i am going to start calling churches in my area because FH's parish only offers confirmation classes on sunday from 12-2.
its football season & i have tried literally every promise in the book to get him to go but its still a no.

if i still can't find a church that will let us get married in it then i am going to make FH donate money since this is all his fault.

if you were not baptized catholic you can have a marriage ceremony in church without a mass being said. If you were baptized catholic you need to have received all the other sacraments before you can participate in the sacrament of marriage

My church will allow us to get married even if FH doesn't get confirmed.

Try the smaller churches who really can't turn people away.

Trust me a donation is not going to do it. We are getting married in a church as I stated above, but they gave a little bit of a hard time but in the end it was fine.

Re: confirmation & getting married in church

i picked the church i was hoping to get married in because it is FH's parish & its the church were FH's dad funeral mass was held, plus i just love the look of it. i do have a few other churches in my area in mind so i am going to make some phone calls.
