Confused about Bachelorette Party and Need Advice

I keep seeing everyone doing fun things for their bachelorette parties. The problem is, my sister who is organizing it is down for anything.
And no one wants to spend more than 50 dollars tops
No one has money and everyone is crying poverty.

So my sister came up with something for 50 dollars, dinner and a show at a comedy club called governors.

Now...maybe im being picky, but i just didnt see this has something i would like to do for my bacheorette party

Any suggestions, am i being greedy?
I just see other brides going places, vegas, or the city renting limos...what is the average cost that people spend on a bachelorette party?

what about if you guys just went out to a club/bar? Chip in for a cab, and then everyone can drink :)

my bach party was in ac, and it came out to like $300 for each girl, for the limo, hotel and dinner/drinks.

Damn that su cks that noone is willing to spend more but what can ya do? Most of the ladies Im going to AC with tonight have hard financial situations also but saved up in advance. Its funny cuz my cousin who drives a Mercedes said my bach party was too expensive for her...yet my girls are only spending less than $100 each for a room at the Showboat and dinner at the buffet.

How many girls are going? If you get a decent amount, the rooms in AC are a good price on a Friday and you can all split the cost. For 5 girls we're sharing a room and its coming to $50 each.

If not, Im sure theres plenty of restaurants you can go to in the city then maybe have a party in the house?

this is one of those instances where i think this website can HURT more than help. some people have the ability to afford really awesome Bach parties and go away--and get limos--and what not. honestly, i felt a little bummed after being on this site and seeing some of the amazing bach. parties that other ladies did , and i knew my girls couldn't afford it. just because you see it on here--does not mean it HAS to be like that to be fabulous.

forget what you see on LIW---ask yourself what YOU want to do and if YOU think the comedy club and dinner would be fun. you could always do just dinner with your girls and whoever wants to--can go do a club or bar or whatever with you either in LI or the city. its all up to you.

I think I'm going to have a similar problem. My BMs and friends are all in school or are teachers and don't have much $$$. FH's friends are i-bankers, attys, other high-paid jobs.

They are going to vegas... I'm a little jealous

My sis claims she wants to plan my b-party but she hasn't really done anything. All I asked her to do was find a weekend where everyone is free (months ago) and as far as I know she hasn't done that. I'm afraid when my b-party rolls around people aren't just going to say they dont have $$ but that they are busy. I'm really limited on days too because my sis wants me to wait until after her 21st bday....

depending on what people are up for, we might take the bus to AC and spend one night at a hotel or do a night out in NYC. If it even gets planned...

ditto. Your comedy club sounds fun! Drinking and laughing with your girls Nicole? What more could you ask for...

Plus - I remember you saying to me that going out and 'partying' is really not your thing anyway. Don't worry what everyone else is doing on here.

I have a preggo and my 19 yr old sister in my BP (and I don't condone fake IDs or chalking IDs) so we'll prob do something even less 'exciting' than your comedy club but I'll be grateful to spend time with them...

Make the most of it momma. You're gonna have a blast!!!

Re: Confused about Bachelorette Party and Need Advice

Mine is costing everyone $200 for the room for Friday-Sunday then whatever spending money they will need. We are doing a spa day on saturday and then going to dinner that night. We are also looking into going to a show saturday night. Luckily my BM's are all down for this and have been saving since we first talked about it. My one cousin who has money issues told me she has been saving up since I got engaged because she wants to be a part of and do everything involving this wedding

what about mohegan sun- we did that for my friend last summer- it was like $50 each for the hotel & they had a shuttle to the casino- drinks & dinner were the only other costs and they were pretty reasonable & we got comped at the club

Re: Confused about Bachelorette Party and Need Advice

if youre not into comedy clubs how about going to dinner and a club instead...put yourself on a guestlist so everybody gets a discounted rate at the door, sometimes you can get in for $10 after youre on the guest list and sometimes comps and also pre-game before going

nicole...~!
for my friends party we are each spending NO MORE THAN 75$$

first we are eating at spotlight live ~ $35pp then we are goign to see times square hunks $30pp (thats in teh same location)

if you want drinks or appetisers thats all on YOU.
we are paying for the bride... and tickets come to 33.00 (with 10 girls)
dinner we arent splittign evenly.. we are pretty much paying for OUR dinner and the brides and whatever drinks she wants... )

we may or may not get a limo.. frankly she lives in Bk on the corner of the 93rd st. R station.. and the location in times sq is on the corner of the R station! thats 4$ pp more...

FM me if you want to see the evite, and the $$ broken down.

if you're not thrilled with the comedy club idea, how about doing something in the city? you can go to mangia e bevi in midtown manhattan, its about $50 pp for the prix fixe menu and i hear its a loooot of fun for a bachelorette party.

some people are not into this, but you can also go to a male review - for my nyc bach. party we went to hunkmania at the club 'duvet' and it was only $25 pp and then girls bought drinks (and some bought me a 'hot seat' to go on stage, lol. the whole night was soooo hilarious and lottttttttts of fun.

We did that when my MOH got married. We had the best time.

You could have a day at the salon with the girls....everyone could get a mani/pedi/massage. You could get some drinks and go back to someones house for a slumber party. No need to spend big bucks...just have fun bonding with the girls.

Re: Confused about Bachelorette Party and Need Advice

i could never ask my girls to spend a lot of $$$$

so we did a 'two part' bachelorette party
in the day we did a spa party which was about $100 for the cheapest package

and then at night we had a great dinner then headed over to a bar.

so people who could afford both came to both and those that couldnt only picked one! i had a great time all day

Maybe if you want to do something extra you can plan something before or after the comedy club!

We went to a comedy club for one of my girlfriends B-party and we had a BLAST !!!! It is all about you and you will be with all of your ladies All of the ideas posted here are great ones that you could do instead if you are not into the comedy club. No matter what you do, you will have a blast. Maybe dinner and pre gaming with a home party at one house and then to a club ...

Re: Confused about Bachelorette Party and Need Advice

i would probably do what everyone says they can afford, and have another one just me and my sis go to the borgata or a spa and just have a blast.

i'm doing a separate one with my sisters anyway which will be totally different from my PR bach. But I'm 31 and all my friends are my age or older have good jobs and wanted the whole vacay thing. so i understand that not everyone is that fortunate but you should still do what you want to an extent.
