Confused about Bachelorette Party and Need Advice

Original post by TheFutureMrsM

I keep seeing everyone doing fun things for their bachelorette parties. The problem is, my sister who is organizing it is down for anything.
And no one wants to spend more than 50 dollars tops
No one has money and everyone is crying poverty.

So my sister came up with something for 50 dollars, dinner and a show at a comedy club called governors.

Now...maybe im being picky, but i just didnt see this has something i would like to do for my bacheorette party

Any suggestions, am i being greedy?
I just see other brides going places, vegas, or the city renting limos...what is the average cost that people spend on a bachelorette party?

You could have a day at the salon with the girls....everyone could get a mani/pedi/massage. You could get some drinks and go back to someones house for a slumber party. No need to spend big bucks...just have fun bonding with the girls.

do you get deals for bp? if so let me know where i can get all that for $50...the places ive gone to for massages are about $90 and up

No, sorry it was just a suggestion. Maybe just mani/pedi then.

OH OK, i thought some places offer packages for bp so i was gonna ask about it hahahaha

I guess it can't hurt to call local nail salons and ask for pricing, maybe they'll give you a deal if you tell them a bunch of you are coming in.

I have mine this weekend We're going out in the city (no limos b/c most girls live here). Dinner (more of an appetizer style dinner) and then going out dancing Tomorrow having dinner in NJ with my family (ladies night!!) and having a sleepover at my cousin's house (MOH).

As for as how much it costs- dinner & drinks tonight & cab fare...
Tomorrow (different people) dinner.

this is one of those instances where i think this website can HURT more than help. some people have the ability to afford really awesome Bach parties and go away--and get limos--and what not. honestly, i felt a little bummed after being on this site and seeing some of the amazing bach. parties that other ladies did , and i knew my girls couldn't afford it. just because you see it on here--does not mean it HAS to be like that to be fabulous.

forget what you see on LIW---ask yourself what YOU want to do and if YOU think the comedy club and dinner would be fun. you could always do just dinner with your girls and whoever wants to--can go do a club or bar or whatever with you either in LI or the city. its all up to you.

I totally agree here! You do what you want to do. Cause what's fun for you may not be fun for everyone else. If you want to do more then why not go with your sister or anyone else that is willing to do more. Maybe go to a nice dinner even if its 2 or 3 of you, then have the rest of the girls meet up and do what they can. At least you are doing what you want to do , not doing something b/c others want you to. It's a fun time!

We're going camping upstate. Nothing too big. Just renting two cabins and getting drunk in the woods, but it is what I want. Far away from strippers and clubs. I love the city, but this is the only thing that everyone agreed on. My FSILs are not happy, but I don't care. The rest of my friends think it's great and so do I.

Do what makes you happy.

Thank you for all the responses,

I know i dont want to go out clubbing, or bar hopping
Its not my thing, to be honest
What i really wanted to do was a spa day
But the prices were at least 100 pp and then i wanted to go to dinner after, something like melting pot, which would of been another 60-100 dollars depending on the package we would order.

I love Spa's and its a bummer there is no way we can do it.

Take the ferry over to Ocean beach Memorial day weekend - have dinner there - and then go to Mermaids!

That sounds great, but from what my sister told me, everyones limit including everything, travel, food, entertainment, drinks and chipping in for me, etc is 50 dollars.
IMHO that doesnt get you very far

what about for spa do a mani/pedi & 10-minute massage?? Or, maybe you could look in craigslist for someone to come to your house & do mani/pedis? A lot of times beauty school students post on there for some extra $$$.

Melting Pot is sooo delish! Maybe there you just to cheese & dessert? Those are the BEST parts anyway!!!

Both bridal parties I was in last year ran me a couple of hundred and up for that night. Tell one of your BM's to sell some of her **** and do the right thing....geez. (Nicole knows who I mean).

Someone posted this and I thought this looked fun.

Also, alot of Korean Spas in the city are very affordable. Let me try and do a search of some.

Re: Confused about Bachelorette Party and Need Advice

I have a GREAT idea for you.

At this place Dashing Diva, they serve cosmos on Thursday and Friday nights from 5-9 pm.
You can get manis' or pedis and it's so girly.
It's RIGHT on 8th street.

Then you can have dinner at Cafetasia which is a great vibe restaurant that is not expensive AT all.

You can do your mani's and pedis at 7 and then go to dinner!
