Confused about LIW

I've been wondering for some time (as I mostly lurk) why some brides won't say on their profiles what vendors they are using or their name. Are they afraid that someone will find out they post on here or are there really terrible people who would try and cancel your vendor on you?

Then I was not terribly happy with the whole Z100 reading posts online. THEN, the drama at lunch today. Regardless of what you think, whose 'side' your on - all the name calling and accussations and sillyness.

I'm feeling a bit sad about my LIW obsession. I'm a professional adult female and this was one of my favorite outlets for bridal fun. Noone really understands the excitement about planning like another bride. And now, I'm just sad about this whole site. Anyone feeling the same?
Wish I could meet you guys at the GTG and maybe get some of my excitement back. I'm sort of at a stand still with my bridal planning as it is.....so I count on you guys to get me excited all over again.

There was an issue a few months back - most of us just didn't add too much information after or got rid of it just to protect ourselves.

Don't let the excitement end!! Most of us are here for all the right reasons and love each other.

I dont get it... I thought this was the whole purpose of this site. For the irls to help eachother out. Its silly to me that poeple would start drama... I dont knwo what happened a while back, I have only been on for a few months but I really wish that everyone would get along.....form what i gather this is everyone getaway and excitment...why ruin it by starting drama? I wish i could meat some of you girls too. Even though I have not rally established a real relationship with anyone in particular I think you are all sweethearts and wish you all the best!!!

weddings are inherently, filled with drama. and it goes in cycles on here, at least.

don't sweat it, i've been here since 2003 and have not once thought about leaving. where am i gonna go? the knot? heaven forbid, those girls'll rip your head off.

really though, i've gotten so many ideas from this site and i try to ignore the drama. sometimes i join in, gotta pass the time at work somehow, right?

Well the reason that I don't have my vendors on my profile anymore and also try not to post too much personal info is because this is still a public forum on the internet...there have been instances where people have gone and canceled bride's vendors....not necessarily other LIW Brides but just people who may lurk on here.......I help as many people as I can but honestly if I don;t recognize your LIW name if I get an FM...I don't respond...you just never know and that is sad.

LIW has just had a bad week.. we'll be back to happy planning in no time! I have personally met a bunch of REALLY sweet mature WOMAN from this site!! Don't let a few posts steer you away! As far as not posting vendors... yes some brides had their vendors canceled by lurkers and it's a horrible thing!! But you can put your vendors if you like to. Some people do.

Strange, I always wondered too why people are hesitant to post their vendors and how much they are paying and stuff. ..
the canceling thing seems fishy!
