I have a question...I have been trying to google this with confusing results.
Do we put registry information in our wedding invites? so far I heard that the registry information is for the wedding shower, which I havn't had yet...
How would guest know that I have a registry? although I do prefer money...I heard we're suppose to give options...I'm just confused.
Thanks ladies!

Re: Confused, about registry information
dont put it in the invitiation! if you have a website, you can put it there. or if ppl ask, you can tell them

Re: Confused, about registry information
Usually the registry info goes out with the shower invites. I gave my bbb cards to my MOH.

Re: Confused, about registry information
We did not put registry information on our invites ... I only registered for my bridal shower. If you want gifts for the wedding, or do not mind if people bring your gifts instead of money for the wedding, you can include it on your invites but it's up to you.

Re: Confused, about registry information
You don't put it on your wedding invitation. It is usually included with the shower information and then if people want to give a gift at the wedding they'll have the info from the shower.

I only put them in the shower invites. Not in the wedding invites. Nowadays people know if you want to find someones registry you just google their names or ask people.

exactly
you're 'allowed' to put it in your engagement party or shower invitations because you're not hosting those parties (they're hosted by your family or friends) so it's not like YOU are asking for gifts.
people will assume you are registered somewhere and ask you if they wanna give a gift (but most NYers give cash for the wedding)

Re: Confused, about registry information
Definitely agree with PP! Don't put it on your wedding invites. Shower invites are okay, wedding website is okay, word of mouth is okay. Honestly, most people will assume you're registered.

Def don't put it in your wedding invitation. You can put them in the shower invitations though, or you could include it on your website and put a link to that website on your invitation.

Re: Confused, about registry information
I think it's customary to only include in the shower invite. I've never seen it on the wedding invite-- even for out of NY weddings that typically give gifts rather than money
