Congratulations!!!

Hi Wanda: Wow..that is such a nice story!! Congratulations. I'm also getting married in 2004, in May. We're having the engagement party this October. My FH is Greek Orthodox (I'm Catholic) and we've decided to have a GO wedding. In the GO tradition, you become officially engaged when the priest blesses the rings, this usually happens at an engagement party, so that's why we're having it in October. I've heard that usually an engagement party is supposed to take place 6 mos-1 year before the wedding. But you should do what makes you and your FH happy!! I am a little new here and don't do things correctly too. My mom wants to have the e-party in July or August of this year. Which is fine with me b/c I can't wait any longer than I already have! I need to relax its only been 4 days of us being engaged!! Have you sent out announcements yet or is it too early for me to begin?

We didn't send any engagement announcements..We just relied on word of mouth. We're just having the engagement party in October. So I really have no clue about engagement announcement etiquette.
