I actually looked up some RD articles and how-to stuff and I read that you are supposed to invite bp with their significant others. I dont think that you have to let them bring random guests.

If they're married or in a relationship, yes they're being invited with a guest. If their wedding invite is simply 'and guest,' no they're not.

I am, but most of them are married or in serious relationships..There are like 3 that aren't, and I think we will tell them to bring someone if they want. We are most likely having a BBQ type thing at my parents' house.

hmmm I might not be following proper ettiquet here but we are not unless they are married. I don't feel right asking someone to leave their husband or wife home. I should add we only have 2 members of our BP who are married and the other is not in our wedding. One is an OOT'er, and I would never expect her to hang out in a hotel by herself and the other will be married a few weeks before us.

The way I see it I go places without my FH all the time. I don't think it's a big deal. We are also not having a big fancy dinner though. I am hoping it only lasts 3 hours or so. Maybe if we were I would feel differently.

Plus he would be bored sitting through a rehersal of a wedding I was in, and to take 2 cars to travel to a dinner is silly. JMHO

I'm only inviting them with a guest if they are married, dating someone, in a serious relationship.

Depends. If they are married, engaged, seriously dating then yes.

Otherwise now.

We're doing it only if they are dating someone.

I am the odd woman out on here because I am so not following etiquette! I only invited the bridal party to the RD. No guests!
