Construction at Russo's on the Bay

Construction at Russo's on the Bay

I received a letter this week from Russo's stating that the front of the building will be under construction for 8 weeks starting on July 7, 2004. The letter came with a picture of what the front will look like during the construction. I was wondering if anyone is affected by this and if they are as horrified as I am that my guests will pull up to a glorified construction site.

I would be soooo pissed! my sister lives in HB and told me about this a long time ago. they are giving it a 'face lift' b/c they get to many complaints in looks like a factory on the outside and want to make it as nice outside at it is inside - b/c honestly if you dont know how it looks inside you might not bother by just seeing the outside.
GO there and complain!!!! maybe you can get some extra stuff out of it. thats not fair to you at all

i have already tried to complain - they don't think it's a big deal especially since the service will be the same on the inside as it was before. I plan to keep houding them though until they do something. I have guests coming from LI and out of state that have heard nothing but great things about Russo's. I don't want them to pull up for my reception and see construction regardless of how they try to conceal it.

I would be mad as well if I wasn't told when I was booking the hall. Good luck with everything.

I would be pretty upset too. They should have told you when you booked the place that they were planning this and it is not fair that is was concealed from you and you also don't think that you should have just been sent a letter. You are a bride using their facility and the least they could have done was call you personally to let you know, considering you are paying money towards their facelift. I would definiteley keep hounding them. Tell them that this is an inconvenience, as you had hopes of you and your guests pulling up to a nice place and now you will be pulling up to a construction site!! Don't drop it!!! Good Luck and Welcome!!

I agree. Insist on getting something in return.

I agree you should be upset for not being informed earlier - but Russo's probably feels it's not a big deal since they are not known for their outside at all, only their inside.

I would definitely make a stink. They have to do something for you to make you happy. I would go for their venetian hour if you have not already gotten it....they do snow cone and cotton candy machines..it's like a circus!

Just wanted to also add that my fh cousin just had her sweet 16 at marina del ray and the outside was under construction... the front looked ok but the sides you could definitly tell. I know my fh's aunt got a really good deal b/c of it

I got the letter also the other day and I am so annoyed. I called and they said that no one will even know that the construction will be going on. They gave me a run around.

I don't know how they think people won't notice something like that.

Yep, I'd go bridezilla on this.

I push back and say 'what about the photos I dreamed of having outside? Now I have to deal with scaffolding?'

Yep.. you give it to them!!

Ronnie& Theresa - Who is Stella? By the time you get married you will have a mural of an Italian hillside sure to be seen from every point on Cross Bay Blvd and from every plane that takes off at JFK - Did you happen to see what the new front is going to look like?
