In driving past Russo's I saw that they they have construction stuff covering the entire facade, except for the smaller part by the entrance that says 'Russo's on the Bay', which has already been done and looks great. The rest (which wa formerly black marble) is all covered up. I wonder what they're doing? Does anyone know? Just thought I'd also give a heads up to any Russo's Brides! I'm sure it'll look great though, judging by what they've already done to the entranceway!

They are working on it from now - sept. Its supposed to look pretty nice when its done but I think they handled the situation very poorly. They didnt inform any of the brides that this work was to be done... until about 2 months ago they sent them a letter basically saying that it will be covered up at night for their weddings. All I know is I would be

Yeah I saw a wedding going on there with the construction and I was like 'ugh..I feel sorry for them!'
When did they start? I am so oblivious...I never noticed it until the other night

They started this month but im not sure of the exact date. Honestly those brides are paying sooooo much.. I would be furious ( even though thats not really the point b/c I would be pissed no matter how much or little I payed) But I really dont like how they waited till 2 mos before it was scheduled to start to tell everyone... I mean at that point its literally to late to go anywhere else... that dosent make them look very good IMO

I agree. I'd be really pissed, but I mean ESPECIALLY because that place is so much $$ and it purports to be such a high class establishment. I'dbe really upset if I had construction stuff up for my wedding. Maybe they gave them a discount..and hey, the food is still good.

Thats the sad thing! I know someone getting married the first week of sept. and she went there FUMING. They didnt offer her a discount, no freebies, NOTHING! They were actually a little rude to her about it!!!! they said why should you pay less? your still getting the same food and service! shes like yes but I have been telling all my relatives about this place and they are coming from all over the US for my wedding .. and now they are pulling up to a construction site?!?!!?

I feel bad for those who are having their weddings during the construction process. I think they planned it poorly. They should have blocked out the dates so couples wouldn't book their weddings during that time. It does look nice and will look beautiful.. but If I were getting married while they were working on it, I would be so upset. From a distance, it doesn't look too bad, but once you pull up in front of it, you can tell it is a construction site. I am surprised they are not giving extras to those who will be inconvenienced.

Just to let other Russo's brides know...I went to go drop off a payment (what a fabulous time that was) haha ...and I saw a picture of what they outside is going to look like...and it looks beautiful....

Pupadolce...if you go to the website..there is a small picture of what russos will look like... i saw a big one in the banquet office...and it looks BEAUTIFUL!

I'm also getting married at russo's sept, 10 2005. I'm really not crazy about what it looks like, but what can I do. The room that were having is thr Tivoli room which is great! Which room for you? I think someone told me that russo's changes their liik everyone few years or something.

I am a Russo's bride too. And I would too be annoyed. But my family went to a wedding there last week and didn't even notice the construction.

I think they do constuction every 3-4 years or something. Someone I know used to work there. He said that they change the looks because they don't want it to look the same all the time and they get sick of it. Personally I think it looked great the way it was before. but im glad my wedding isn't for another year and 2 months.

I live right near Russo's it hasn't change in awhile. I think i was 5 years ago that they canged the facade and added the parking garage. The contruction is SOOO ugly!

For any of you ladies getting married during the construction, you should really complain to higher management. I don't see why they should give a little discount for the inconvience.
