Have any of you been contacted by vendors? Today I received an email from a videographer. After not responding to the email, the videographer proceeded to call my cell phone and send and info package to my HOUSE. How did the videographer get my PHONE NUMBER and ADDRESS. Does liweddings even have the right to give out personal information like that. When you made an account, did you give them permission to do this? I dont need to be bothered by vendors begging me to use their service. I can decide who I want to use and contact them on my own thank you very much. If you cant tell, I'm extremely pissed off. NO ONE should have my personal information (address, phone number) without my direct permission.

Did you book a RH yet? If so, that might be where the vendors have gotten your info from.

Thats true. When we booked our RH we had the RH's house vendors contact us.

No RH yet. The vendor said that they got my info from liweddings and nyweddings which are joint companies. I dont care if they email me, by phone number and address are a little too personal, dont you think?

yes... LIW releases our information... when I first signed up on here I got millions of wedding advertisements to my house...................... until I changed my address (under profile info) now they come but not nearly as many. And I still get some emails every other day or so.

i think it was a requried field when i registered. i think i will just change my number and address to fake ones.

I've been getting mail to my house (and FH's house in my name) since January, as well as emails. I've had a few phone calls (not very many).
We've been to about 3 or 4 bridal shows so I'm not sure if they got info that way (i filled out so many of those little papers at showcases) or through LIW.
Either way, I have so many postcards, flyers, etc. I really should just throw them all out. After all, its only important if I've met with the vendor and pricing.
I get mail from vendors at least once a day still.

i've made a separate folder in my email for wedding spam, i've got an accordion folder for all the flyers i get, and i never answer my phone for numbers i dont know.

I never write down my phone number except for contract things, like at the RH. Since signing with RH I have gotten quite a few phone calls. But knock wood, no one has ever called me from LIW, but like everyone else I always get tons of crap mail.

I got constant annoying phone calls from vendors within the week after i booked my RH. I think the RH gave my contact info to their 'prefered vendors' because thats who mostly called me.
Someone from Pedastals florist called and was like 'Hiiiii!!!!! Oh i see your not getting married until 2010.... okay bye!' lol..

i used to get calls all the time from different 800 numbers saying i won things....if you tell them verbally to not call you again they legally cant call again, i think i heard that on the bhb boards once...

Thanks guys! It's just really annoying...and kinda desperate. I can contact and book who I want. But its really rude that Pedestals hung up on you bc your wedding was in 2010. It's like its a crime to start booking vendors early. I personally think its a positive :)
