Contracts

I will be signing my hall contract this weekend. Anyone have any tips on what to look out for or things I must include? Thanks

Make sure that if you are thinkinking of adding anything to your contract down the road, but are not sure that you want to add those items at signing the contract, have them note the price that it would cost you to add on at a later date. this was you do not pay additional money when items go up $!

Just make sure that EVERYTHING you mentioned that you want (vienese hour, etc..) is listed. They might just tell you to sign on the line but make sure they go through it with you. If there is something you didn't want and it's on there don't be afraid to speak up. Just make sure you read before signing and you'll be fine.

BTW: CONGRATS on choosing a Hall, which one?

We decided on the Carltun.

Re: Contracts

Please make sure that there will be enough time for you to set up your flowers. I was thinking about the Carltun and then decided against it bc I felt that there is not enough turnaround time. This is important since you don't want to see the other party 'breaking down' their arrangements, and their guests leaving while yours are arriving or vice versa. It made me realize that going to a place that does one wedding at a time is important, at least for me. Just check with them first, to make sure, you don;t want any surprises.

Just to correct the last reply, The Carltun is one affair at a time. We signed with them a month ago. Make sure you tell them to include everything that you are having on the contract. We added the pasta course we had Sheila put it the contract, also the dessert cafe...

Re: Contracts

You are right there are 'one affair at a time' but they often have 2 affairs a day, that are close together. I have heard that many people run into the problem of seeing the previous party before and after them. YOu can also run into the problem with the 'break down' of flowers. Its just something to think about, one affair at a time is not the same as having the place to yourself for the day.

There is approximately AT LEAST 2 hours in between affairs... It was more about planning for me- where I would take the first hour of pics.. but there is no day affair next week, so we can get in a little earlier- but you need to have a contigency plan. Yes, you will need to think about the logistics of the day-- but, I doubt you will run into another party... if anything, some vendors may cross paths and that's it.

Its a great place you are right about the logistics. You are lucky that there is no day affair. Best of luck!

Re: Contracts

Before you go make a list on exactly what you want(ice sculpture, venesian hour or trays etc) .
