Hi Girls.... So I just got engaged and I am throwing myself into wedding planning. We were thinking of booking a place (no idea where) for May of 2012.

His proposal was perfect. We were going to a Mets game with his brother and sister in law. He said that my sister was meeting a friend for the same game so she was meet us to tailgate. After tailgating for a little we went to go to the game. They have a brick in memory of their mom so they were bringing me there to see it. Except..... instead they brought me to a new brick that said 'Mara Harvey, Will you marry me.' I was shocked. I mean I knew we would at some point get engaged but I had no idea it was that day. We then met his other brother and sister in law in the city for dinner and we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria. It was perfect!

We are paying for the wedding ourself so we definitely have to be careful with the amount we spend. We are thinking about 150 people. I love the idea of being by the water but that is not a necessity.

My fiance is a police officer so his schedule is a little wacky. So we figured we would slowly go and see places. We definitely want to enjoy being engaged and not throw ourself right into all the craziness.
