Cooking Classes

Does anyone know where cooking classes are offered either in NYC, LI or Westchester. Thanks

Here's one place in Manhattan:

Just edited to say - look in the recreational division for non-diploma classes.

I work at a culinary school. We don't offer recreational classes but a great website is www.cookingschools.com. You can search by zip code and find one close to home

I want to take the class, but was thinking of giving it to FH as a gift. We will take them together. He really loves to cook.

For those of you thinking about classes, I'd like to suggest watching 30 Minute Meals on Food TV. This is a great show for beginners. She uses basic ingrediants, and shows every step.

Jodi73, thanks for a great idea!
I will have me & John take classes together after we are married!!!!

Valenia, what channel is that? Food Channel? When is it on?

Re: Cooking Classes

30 Minute Meals is on the Food Network weekdays at 2:30 and 6, and on Saturdays at 11:30. So many of the other shows throw around terms and assume you understand what happened as they skip steps. In 30 minute meals you see everything done, and the whole thing gets cooked in a half hour so its actually practical!

Re: Cooking Classes

Yeah, I need these too! I want to take classes with FI so I'm not the one having all the fun. I absolutely HATE cooking and I think its because I don't do it very well. There are only certain 'things' I can make.
