Cooking disaster

Cooking disaster

DH was very sweet and decided to make me stew for dinner tonight. He followed a recipe and all was fine until he got to the part that said 'add two cloves of crushed garlic.' Doesn't seem too difficult, right? Well, DH added two heads of garlic (probably the equivalent of about 20 cloves!!!!).

So, after you are done laughing, does anyone have any suggestions on how to salvage this meal other than to just feed it to the dog? Is there something that can be added to take out the disgustingly overwhelming garlic flavor? I feel so bad for him. He was working so hard on it all day, but it's just so bad.

Don't give it to the dog. Thats animal cruelty.

I can't believe I actually choked down a bowl of this. DH is walking around the apartment saying, 'I can't believe it.'

I think I knew something was wrong as soon as I walked into the apartment building and smelled garlic all the way down the hall!

aaww poor hubby- so what is for dinner now that you have flushed the stew down the toilet?

Well, the mashed potatoes were edible. Hmmm.... the dog food is probably more appetizing than the stew! At this point, I really have no appetite.

OMG! As much as I love to cook with garlic, even using a few cloves causes the smell to linger in my apartment into the next morning! I hope you can open some windows.

I am sure your DH will never make that mistake again.

All of the windows have been open all day! I have a headache from the smell.

Hi allure! A lot has been going on lately, but hopefully I can check in here once in a while.
